Soila Candelaria, an employee New Lock Invented By Dr. OtmarStuetzer Untold genius is exerted annually to commit as well as to prevent crime. The battle is to assure that genius on the preventive side wins. Theron Johnson, local manager for Mountain States Telephone Co., said a new lock invented by Dr. Otmar Stuetzer, a scientist of the Bell Systems Sandia Corporation, may be the genius to thwart efforts of burg- lars. Called the piezoelectric lock, the device consists of a cylinder and ceramic rings on a metal rod. The ringed rod is inserted in the cylinder and the rings expand in response to electrical impulses. Once the rings are expanded, the lock is secure until the exact combination of electrical signals contracts the rings and brings release. Wrong signals only serve to tighten the lock. Mr. Johnson said the new lock is not only better than mechanical locks, it is superior to electronic memory locks because of less sensitivity to high magnetic fields. Currently the invention is still being developed. It will be available for use in the near future. - Before you build Look over this exceptional value! Practically new brick home on large lot.
