Russell Stansfield, who states that the building will be outstanding in beauty and usefulness. The new school is without a doubt the most expensive and most elaborate school to be built in Payson to this date. The House of Originals will not only house a beauty salon as it has in the past but hand-maclothing, hair piec. s, dolls and many other types of goods that must be made by hand, will be obtainable within its doors. As the name implies, originality in many forms is displayed there. The decor is blended with antique pieces and design mingled with the new and latest in equipment and products. Both Mr. and Mrs. Dickey have a deep sense of appreciation for beauty and practicality of early day design as well as the new and modern. Mrs. Dickey is a native of Lovell, Wyoming where she began her beauty career. Coming to Utah after her marriage to Mr. Dickey, she operated two salons in Pleasant Grove with her husband for 15 years. She has won a number of style contests and has kept up with the times by participating in conventions and shows where the leading artists of the are de state trade from all over the world display their techniques and give individual tutoring. She has written weekly columns in th several papers with advice and beauty aids for good grooming. She has been sponsored by various schools and church groups where she has given lectures and informal teaching aids for personal grooming, etc. Mr. Dickey is a native Utahn being reared in Orem; served an LDS mission, Veteran U. S. Air Force, World War H, serving in various capacities including personnel Major Blythville, Ark., and managing Post Theater there in the evenings. It is Mr. Dickeys interest to do anything that people do with their hands and will be in the House of Originals part time. We believe that local businesses can enjoy the patronage of the hometown people and at competitive prices. Mr. and Mrs. Dickey are the parents of six children: Mrs. Larry (Connie) Erickson; John who is serving in the mission field in the Western Canadian Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints; Sherryl, 15, Ray, 14, David, 10, down-to-ear- Spanish Fork has the contract for the electrical work at $239, 977; and Byland Plumbing and Heating Co. of Pleasant Grove has the contract for the plumbing at $412,600. These figures are subject to change. The above amounts do not take into account the cost of the real estate on which the school is built. It does not include the landscaping, roadways, football field or equipment. Much new furniture has already been purchased or is on lay - away. Where-evfeasible, equipment such as that in the chemistry room will be moved to the new school, but most will be entirely new. er Payson Welcomes New Business Couple Mr. and Mrs. Arzie R. Mitchell purchased the Hispot Laundercenter in Payson and took posession on May 1. At this time he changed the name to Mt Nebo Laundercenter however none of the services were 'changed. The Mitchells are from Provo where he was formerly employed by Sears and Safeway. He is acquainted with quite a number of people in this vicinity. They extend an invitation to everyone to come in and see what they have to offer in the way of machines and service. We welcome them, and are sure that they will prove an asset to the community. Seventies to Present Special Variety Show A Seventies fund raising program called Seventy Varieties will be held Saturday May 13 at 7:30 p.m. The show will feature professional talent such as Ken Sanson from Salt Lake City, Ken formerly had his own program on KSL; and a quartet, The Laymen, who are singing a recording contract with Capi- tol records. Tickets are available through any of the Seventies and will be on sale at the door the night of the performance. To The Santaquin City Queen Contest to choose a homecoming queen will be held Saturday, May 13, 1967 at 8 p.m. in the Santaquin Jr. HighSchool building. Theme for the event will be Just The Way You Look Tonight. Robert J. Backman and David 0. McKay wiU share honors as M.C. The girls will Ba-lzl- treasurer. Frank Madson, retiring commander, was in charge of arrangements. Members of the Auxilliary also installed officers, with Mrs. Hazel Roylance, Spring-vill- e, district president, as installation officer. Leah May Tanner takes over the presidency from Lenore Jones, with other officers as follows: Mrs. Bard Cloward and Mrs. Tom Larson, first and second vice persidents; AftonOborn, secretary; Mrs. Kenneth Daniels, treasurer; Esther Nielson, Belle Montague, historian, Reba Olsen, hospital chairman; Lavern Bryan, Mrs. Arthur Davis, sergeants at arms; Marie Buys, reporter. chaplain; Poise be judged on Beauty, and Personality. There will be no half year subscriptions accepted. The old rate will be in effect during May and a $1 fine line ball point pen will be given; away with each new or renewal subscription at either rate. The new rate is necessary because of planned increase in coverage, rates adjusted to coincide with increased postal costs, and to defray other added expenses. Lynn Powell Librarian Opening Payson City Library Board announces an opening for the position of Senior Librarian. Anyone interested in this position should file a written application with J. D. Christensen before May 22nd. Hours are from 3 to 6 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Applicants should have had a course in filing or be willing to take the required course. Other officers are Ed Chappie, first vice commander; Max Llewellyn second vice commander; Arthur Davis, sgt. at arms; Frank Thomas, service officer; Ross Dowdle, chaplain; Bob Phelps, adjutant; and Ralph v Payson looks forward to the time when this attractive and beneficial facility will be completed and ready for occupancy. I wish to help the students to achieve their lifes goal and assist in the activities of our church and community. Mr. Powell is a native of Payson, Utah. He is the son of Mrs. Dora Powell Stewart and the late Albert H. Powell. Lynn Powell was reared in the Payson and Spanish Fork area. He was graduated from the Brigham Young University, in 1949. Mr. Powells educational qualifications include a Professional Pupil Personnel Certificate and a Secondary School Administrative Supervising Certificate. Mr. Powell is married to the former Lorna Emerson. They are the parents of five children: Linda, Gary, Leslie Jo, Brent and Brian. He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He is an Elders Quorum teacher. Mr. Powell has also served his country in the navy in the radio division. Lynn Powell has a wealth of experience as an educator having taught two years in the South Summit High School, two years at Kanab High School, 12 years at Payson Jr. High School and one year at Payson Sr. High School. on 95 Senior Citizens Attention!
