Show West Mountain News The Payson Chronicle, Payson, Utah THURSDAY, JUNE 16, 1966 BY RUBY MEREDITH Growth Notes West Ward, during the summer months, just doesnt seem the same. Indian foster children, Cynthia Cleveland of St. Michaels, Ariz., foster daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Christiansen, and Rose Jean Yazzi of Tuba, Ariz., foster daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dowell Reed Schramm, have returned to their native homes. in Santaquin - Tintic Stake By Beulah G. Bradley Those of our stake who accepted an invitationweekto special learning this past by attending the BYU Education Week, are very gratified this day that they had the wisdom and promptings to make it this year. Those who did, were thrilled and excited over the wonderful changes in every phase of the full week over other years the wonderful classes and the great variety and depth of learning in each one; the dedicated leaders and the glorious buildings of the campus where we were privileged to listen, wish participate and learn. I had the words to express how felt this year over many of those of past years. The many drawbacks ol years past were eliminated and we were housed in those wonderful 1 1 new buildings to the north of the campus, all in close proximity to each other with a minimum of walking. The instructors were specialists; the Devotionals brought tears to my eyes and every subject was so wonderful that all on campus had in choosing which one, each hour. Im sorry for those who failed to be there, for I still stand amazed, enthralled and grateful for the spiritual paths of learning there. NEWS OF THE STAKE The Stake Presidency and High Council social of our difficulty stake was held Saturday evening at a local cafe. Thursday, June 23, there is to be a YMMIA softball game at the Santaquin Ball Park. In fact, we understand there is one every week, and also that the YWMIA games are inter- esting. Call M.I.A. leaders for time and play of each group, Do you have Home Teachers, who as members of the Priesthood, are interested and aware of you and your family? We know it is the desire of our stake and ward leaders that this be so. Why not talk to your bishopric if they are not calling on you. Jolley, son of Brother and Sister Malcolm Jolley, was held Sunday evening with a large crowd attending. Elder Jolley left Monday afternoon to enter the Mission Home prior to his departure for the North Central States Mission. Last week we reported on the new assignment for Elder Donald Butler. It was misstated that he had been assigned to serve as secretary of the Cambridge section of the New England Mission. Actually, Elder Butler has been named as secretary for the full New England Mission Field, and will be working directly with President Boyd Packer. We congratulate Elder Butler for fine nr.ssionary labors and activity and in his naw calling. Our Genola reporter, Beatrice Kerby, was away over the weekend, thus we were unable to get a report from that ward.
