Peay has been made president of the Library Board and states that money is now available for new books for the library. He also states that the week from June 2 to June 12 is free library week, meaning that anyone having a book overDean due can return same without paying a fine. He urges anyone that has books they would like to donate to the library to bring them to the Library and they would be greatly appreciated. Bountiful spent the weekend at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gus Peterson. Peterson Don of Visiting at the home of Mrs. Laura Goodall and other relatives is Reed Jerman of Salt Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Don Jerman of Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. William D. Warner of Idaho Falls have spent the past four days at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ruben Peterson. Mrs. Jennie Hendrickson is in the Payson Hospital with an illness. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Kay have a new baby boy born in the Pay-so- n Hospital May 29. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Holla-da- y and their three children of Ontario, Oregon, have been visiting at the home of Mrs. Thora Holladay and Mrs. Olive Greenhalgh. They came for the graduation of their son Gerald from the BYU. Also present at the home of Mrs. Thora Holladay were Mr. and Mrs. Otis Cole and family of Clearfield. They visited a number of relatives and also decorated graves in the Tooele City Cemetery. A family gathering at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Flint McClellan was arranged on Memorial Day. In the group were the McClellans and their Former Paysonians, known years ago as Clara and Mildred Pace, with their husbands, Ed Singmaster and Sam Fox, spent the weekend in Payson. A family party was held at the Bigler Cabin in Payson Canyon and those present were Mrs. Pearl Bigler, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bigler and two children; Mr. and Mrs. Marvin (Joan Lee Bigler) Oberg and four children. The Singmasters reside in Ashland, Oregon, and Mr. and Mrs. Fox are from Grants Pass, Oregon. USU HONOR ROLL Honor roll students at Utah State University, Winter Quarter, were announced recently by Claude J. Burtenshaw, dean of students. Dean Burtenshaw indicated that in order to make the honor list, a student must have at least 15 credit completed hours of, attained a grade point average of 3.5 or better (4.0 is straight A). The Commission announcement indicated that it is not desired at this time to hear any suggestions as to what the future shape of public land law or practice should be. At this stage, the Commission is primarily concerned with identifying specific areas that require study. We have had many excellent suggestions for study topics, Chairman Aspinall stated, most of but, he continued, these have come through representatives of organized conservation, trade, and user groups, and from state and local government. We are now interested in hearing directly from those who live in and near the public land areas and who may not have been represented by those from whom we have received suggestions. The Public Land Law Review Commission was established by Federal law for the purpose of reviewing the laws, regulations, practices, and procedures applicable to the public lands and to report to the President and Congress with any recommendations that it deems appropriate and necessary to provide that the public lands of the United States shall be: (a) retained and managed or (b) disposed of, all in a manner to provide the maximum benefit for the general public. Wayne Chairman Aspinall of the Public Land Law Review Commission, announced today that a meeting will be held in Salt Lake City on Tuesday, June 7, and will continue, if necessary, on Wednesday, June 8. The meeting will hear from users and prospective users of the public land, views as to matters that should be studied by the Public Land Law Review Commission. The meeting wiU be held in the Governors Conference Room at the State Capitol starting at 10 a.m., and will be presided over by the Commissions Vice Chairman, H. Byron Mock. Following the exercises, Anna returned to Lehi with her cousin, Carolina, where she spent the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Thompson spent Friday night with their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Christen (Jessee) of Orem. They attended commencement exercises for their grandson, Dennis Thompson, held at the Orem High School. Dennis left Sunday for Fort Polk, La., for military service.
