The duties of the assistant principal will consist of a teaching assignment for one-ha- lf day and that of assuming administrative responsibilities for the balance of the day. It is proposed that this program will provide training for personnel interested in becoming full time administrators as well as providing time for the principal to more efficiently function in his role. It will also enable future selections of administrators to be made on the basis of performance. Other administrative changes made were: Omar Hansen - Secondary Supervisor of Grades 8 - 12. CHANGES IN ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL ASSIGNMENTS A program, placing emphasis on curriculum development and instructional improvement, is being inaugurated in the elementary schools of Nebo District for the coming school year. The new plan, which will be tried in a tew schools next fall, calls for one jierson to be sujiervising principal of two schools. He will be stationed at one school with a viceprincipal, who w'lll work with him, assigned to the other, reported Russell Superintendent Stansfield of the Nebo School District Office. The sujjervising principal will be freed from much of his administrative duties allowing him to work with teachers in the areas of curriculum development and instructional N. improvement. The new assignments are as follows in the elementary schools: Jack Powell, supervising principal at Peteetneet and Parkview. Richard LaMar at Wilson, as Parkview. Frank Patten, supervising principal at Westside and Jefferson, with Howard Creer as vice -- principal at Jefferson. Ray Clark, supervising principal at Brookside and Lincoln, with Paul Beckstrom as viceprincipal at Lincoln. J. Wayne Nelson, supervising principal at Benjamin and Lake Shore. Arthur Grotegut, principal at Rees School. Santaquin names Rodeo Queens Royalty for the Santaquin Rodeo was chosen Saturday night in a contest at the rodeo grounds. Jane Butler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Junior Butler, was named queen. The Canine Corps from Salt Lake will demonstrate their dogs and give free training in care of dogs at a Scout meeting to be held Tuesday, June 7, at 7:30 p.m. at the Nebo Stake Center. Local Graduates from BYU last week listed Brigham Young University recently announced the names of 1974 students who received degrees at the spring convocation of the 91st Commencement May 27, in George AlbertSmith Fieldhouse.
