Show The Payson Chronicle, Payton, Utah THURSDAY, DECEMBER ROSELLA W. FINLINSON Rosella Wright Finlinson, 49, of West Mountain died Monday evening, Dec. 13, of cancer at Payson City Hospital. She was a teacher in the elementary OBITUARIES RAY W. FOOTE Ray W. Foote, 76, died Wed- nesday morning in the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City of bronchial pneumonia and complications. ,He was born Dec. 28, 1888, in Hansen, Nebraska, a son of William and Ella Wighton Foote. He never married. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Mr. Foote was a veteran of World War I serving with the U. S. Army. He received his education in the Nebraska and Utah schools. He was a member of the Goshen American Legion Post school at Eureka prior to hospitalization. Mrs. Finlinson was born on Nov. 9, 1916, at Hinkley, a daughter of George W. and Laura married Morris Wright. She Oran Finlinson June 2, 1940, in the Manti Temple. She was graduated from Hinkley High School in 1935, where she was valedictorian of her class. She was graduated from Brigham Young University in 1941 and taught in the elementary schools of Oak City and South Summit. She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as a member of the YWM IA presidency at Oak City. She also served in the presidency of the 123. He moved from Nebraska to Elberta in 1910 and had since resided in Elberta. Surviving is one brother, William Gene Foote, Lynwood, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Helena Christoffer son, Compton, YWMIA, and two sons, Morris and Danny, of West Payson; a sister, Mrs. Cree Provst, and brothers, Lellan Wright, St. George; Rodney Wright and Ivan Wright, both of Hinkley; Elmer Wright of Tooele. Friends may call at Keith Jolley Mortuary Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday prior to services. Burial will be in Oak City Cemetery. Mrs. Cora Jensen, 78, died Sunday afternoon at a Spanish Fork rest home. She was born June 2, 1887, at Eureka, a daughter of James and Mary Seabury Hathaway. She married Charles Moroni Jensen Oct. 31, 1906, in Provo. He died several years ago. Mrs. Jensen was an active member of the LDS Church. Surviving are two sons and daughter, James H. BARNETT Junius Samuel Barnett, 86, Spring Lake, died Monday, Dec. 13, in an Orem rest home of natural causes. He was born Aug. 28, 1879 in Santaquin, a son of William Walker and Mary Ann Openshaw Barnett. He was a lifelong resident of Spring Lake. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Ella B. Peery, Salt Lake City and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Spring Lake LIE Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Rigby Mortuary in Payson on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the ward chapel Thursday prior to services. Kent Oborn, Brent Olson title help BYU win WAC another Kent Oborn and Brent Olson, from two former Payson High, were important members of the Brigham Young all-stat- University football team that recently won the Western Athletic Conference championship. Oborn played tailback on offense, safety man on defense, and ran back punts and kickoffs. Olson played defensive tackle for BYU and did a good job of it. Oborn is a junior and will Rollo V. Daniels is featured in Idaho Newspaper Rolla V. Daniels, Malad, Idaho, formerly of Payson, was subject of a feature article that appeared recently in an Idaho newspaper. Mr. Daniels has provided flying ambulance service for been passengers in his planes, many of them taking their first plane trip with him. Some flights are made to Pay-so- n, where he and his wife visit their son, Ralph Daniels, and family, and also visit his sisters and their families located in Payson, Spanish Fork and Provo. Mr. Daniels purchased his first plane, a 40 horsepower Cub, in 1938. His new Cessna 175 is the 12th plane he has owned. He has logged over 3,000 accident-fre- e flying hours and also an added 1,000 unlogged flying hours are to his credit. In 1965 he was awarded the Idaho Safe Pilot Program plaque. M r. Daniels operated a drug store in Malad from 1920 until retiring in 1958. He and his wife, Grace, now spend their time between Malad in the summer and Arizona, New Mexico and Mexico in the winter. Camps Hold Meetings Mrs. Minnie Depew celebrated her 83rd birthday Tuesday evening when she held openhouse for members of her family. The annual openhouse was attended by many of her sons and daughters and their families. Mrs. Depew was born in 1881 in Spanish F ork, a daughter of Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Seagull Camp, met Thursday afternoon at the home of Arlene Provstgaard, with Susan Ashby, captain, in charge. Ramona Smith gave the lesson on The Heroic Pioneer and Gloria Barnett read a history of George Patten, written by his Leven McClellan. The Provstgaard children, Denise, Brad and Todd presented a program, with Denise and Todd singing Christmas songs and Brad reciting a Christmas poem. Mrs. Provstgaard played piano accompaniment for the songs. Madoline Dixon entertained with several accordion solos.
