Tis the season to be jolley, and in keeping with this cheerful mood, several groups gathered together this past week holito usher in the day season. First, the Primary officers and teachers met for their annual Christmas party Monday night in the Cultural Hall with husbands as guests. As they entered the hall they were greeted by a glistening Christmas tree accented with a red poinsettia placed at the tip of each limb and tables decorated with Christmas arrangements and party favors, a red bow tie for the men and a corsage for the ladies. After the chicken supper party games were played. The party was planned by the presidency with committee helping. The events of the evening were e. conducted by Mrs. Joseph Christmas! fun-fill- ed to merry holiday arranged to form an tables X with a Christmas arrangement centering each one, with pixies and fairies marking each setting and tall candles completing the decor. Gaily wrapped exchange gifts were piled under the silver Christmas tree accentuated with red flowers, which furnished amusement for the crowd after they had finished a delicious dinner. Several games were played and some of the couples enjoyed dancing for a while. Club president Mrs. Elvon Butler conducted. The social was arranged by the social committee and hostesses were Mrs. R. M. Moore, chairman, Mrs. Howard Peery, Mrs. e, Oliver Knapp, Mrs. Vere and Mrs. George LeFevre. Program committee arranged the games. Eleanor Matley, assisted The . and gift evchang6. Prayer was by Mrs. Thora Fisher. Mrs. Anna LeFevre led the pledge to the flag and to the Utah State flag. Mrs. Zella Griffith read a Christmas story. The lesson, "The Heroic Pioneers was given by Mrs. Veda Sizemore. Captain Maxine Moore conducted the lovely affair. Hos- tesses were Mrs. Thelma Butler, Mrs. Rhea Menlove, Mrs. Rhea Spainhower and Lenora Huish. Mrs. Ralph Hiatt entertained at dinner Friday night in honor of the birthday of her husband. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Garth Peart and children, Benny and Angelia. Mr. and Mrs. Eldred Fisher returned home recently from a several weeks trip and a ten-dguided tour of Hawaii. They spent three days at the Princess Kaiulane Hotel while they toured the island of Oahu, visiting interesting places such as Diamond Head, Punch Bowl, Hawaiian Cultural Village, Mormon Temple. Returning to Los Angeles, they visited with their children and families, the Clayton Bush-nell- s, the James Williamses and the Thomas Smallcombs. They spent an evening in the temple with Mrs. Fishers brother, Byron Jones and wife, Mrs. Evan Jones and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Smallcomb and visited with Mr. and Mrs. Allen Swan, Mrs. Fishers sister. Mrs. Daren C. Young, president, greeted the members and a number of special guests. er music was provided by the Payson High School Sextette. They sang Sparkling Meadows and What Child is This? They were attractively dressed in identical holiday blue frocks. Members of the group were Lynda Powell, Karen Elmer, Geneil Gardner, Kathleen Hogan, Julie Cheever, and Becky Thomas, accompanied by Caroline Beddoes. The opening prayer was given by Daren C. Young. Mrs. B. Davis Evans presented a story of the nativity titled The Torn Cloak." Musical background for the presentation was provided by David Lamb. Mrs. Curtis then gave a history of the Candle and Carol Service which has been given in Payson by the junior high school students annually since 1932. This history had been prepared by Mrs. Spence Amos and told of the traditional carols, the involvement of all faculty members and students, and the wide acclaim the event has received. Finale of the program was a preview of this years service under the direction of music instructor John A. Anderson, Jr. Thirty-fiv- e members of the ninth grade girls chorus sang several numbers. These included Drummer Boy, which was presented with drum, bell, flute and piano accompaniment.' A traditional French carol, Once Upon a Winters Night, was the next .offering. The final number was Gail Anger in SL Temple rites Martha Seat, Mrs. John Mr. and of daughter B. Seat of Payson became the bride of Gail Anger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Anger of Fielding in rites performed Friday in the Salt Lake temple. Nathan Attractive Elden Tanner officiated. Afterward, they were honored Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Peay enjoyed a surprise visit from her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Smith and family from Ely, Nevada, on Sunday. They were guests for dinner and visited for a time. ay The Book of Mormon Study Club met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elvon Butler Sunday night after meeting. Six couples were present. Refreshments were served. The program for the Sunday night services was given by the Gilbert Peay family. Interesting talks were given by Mr. and Mrs. Peay and by their two and MarDanny Lafferty gave and one boy, VeLoy Twitchell, son of Mr. and Mrs. daughters, Judy guerite. a talk Charley Twitchell, received his certificate of graduation from Primary and was approved to be ordained in the Aaronic Priesthood. Receiving guests, the bridal party stood before a Grecian backdrop of lattice work trimmed with gold braid. A pair of floor standards held bouquets of white chrysanthemums at either side. The brides gown of white satin was fashioned with a softly pleated skirt and bateau neckline embroidered with beads. The long pointice sleeves were wristlength. A dainty crown of looped perals released her veil of illusion and she carried a bridal bouquet of pale yellow rosebuds. Mrs. Monte Chamberlain of Las Vegas, Nev., the brides sister , stood as matron of honor and other attendants were another sister, Donna Seat, Mrs. Curt Williams and Joan Lewis. They wore floor length skirts of gold velvet with white crepe blouses. The future groom is a graduate of Spanish Fork High School. He has fulfilled a two and a half year mission in Denmark. After their wedding Dec. 17 in the Salt Lake Temple and the reception on Dec. 18, the couple will make their home in Provo. Mr. Olsen will continue his education at the Brigham Young University. Daley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Holman, Payson, has been selected for training at Chanute AFB, 111., as an Air Force aircraft maintenance specialist. The airman, a 1965 graduate of Payson High School, recently completed basic training at Lackland AFB, Texas.
