Daughters of Utah Pioneers from South Utah County traveled to Salt Lake City Saturday for the annual convention held at Hotel Utah. A bus load of 35 and others in private cars made the trip. The evening session featured a chorus from the local unit, including singers from Springville, Spanish Fork, Payson. Salem and Santaquin, under direction of Mrs. Arvilla Robbins with piano accompaniment by Mrs. Leona Cameron. One of their three songs saluted Kate B. Carter, a Spanish Folk native, who was president of the national organization after serving 18 years in the same capacity. Words of the song were written by Mrs. Edith Taylor Davis, Spanish Fork, who was born and reared in Payson. A highlight of the convention was luncheon on the roof garden of the Hotel Utah.
