Dies In Idaho d 4-- H Campaign Progress The sixteen members of the cleanup committee, selected from ..he four wards of Payson met Wednesday night to check up and report on the progress of the campaign. Mayor Philo C. Wightman met with them and was enthusiastic over the wonderful Cooperation and work of the committee and the response of the citizens in the cleanup work. The profuse growth of vegetation during the hot wet season made such a campaign imperative if the city was to appear well for the Homecoming. The committee reported that in most cases, citizens were willing to cooperate in the woik in a public spirited manner. A few people who appeared unwilling to cooperate will no doubt do so by the end of the week as they observe the improvement after a little effox-- t on the part of each property owner. The city obtained the use of a county tractor for cleaning and leveling the east block of the city paik where the carnival will be located. The program of events calls for a daybreak salute on the opening late, Monday, August 31, by the American Legion followed with a musical serenade of the city and a flag raising ceremony by the Boy Scouts, Band concerts on Main Street will precede the parade at 10 a. m and will follow at Memoxial Park. The program of races and vaudeville entertainment at the Sports Field will begin at 2 p. m. and band concert in the Park will follow. The Home Coming program will be held Monday night 'n the Nebo Stake Tabernacle. The program for the second day is to be about the same and in addition the public reception for all adults will be held in the Junior high school auditorium from four to seven p. m. and the D. H. Christensen reunion will be held !n the Wilson Little Theatre. The vaudeville and novelty entertainment at the Sports Field will be ntrodueed in the evening. On Wednesday the morning attraction will be a Mammoth parand playing ade of marching bands. They will be massed from the Paik to the Tabernacle and give two full hours of playing and marching. All stores close at noon on Wed. for the closing race meet. Stores will remain open on the first two 'lays but will operate with a minimum of employees so that as many as desire can go to the races. The vaudeville entertainment will again feature the evening activities on Wednesday. A high class carnival has been secured and will operate during the entire period of the festival. Dances will be held each night at the resorts and the Star Theatre will give special attractions.
