The events in the rodeo will he steer riding, calf roping, wild cow milking, sheep roping and a potato race. For the wild cow milking contest, contestants are to enter in pairs. In the sheep roping contest, sheep which are roped will become the property of the one who ropes them. If there are more contestants entered than there are rides scheduled, a drawing will be made bv the rodeo board. Contestants will he notified of the event they are chosen for and will be given an arm band which will admit them to the arena. ORGANIZE CLUB FOR FLOWER GARDENERS A Flower Garden club was organized in Payson Monday night with Doyle Liddle, president; Dr. J. H. Ellsworth, Mrs. Reed Jones, secretary, Mrs. Roland Lindsay, publicity, McKay before Jan. 1, 1950. Veterans rejected soley for health reasons for government insurance and subsequently killed or totally disabled in line of duty have been declared eligible for Insurance benefits for themselves or survivors, Mr. Tatum said. Station, PAYSONIAN CLUB IN CALIFORNIA HOLDS ANNUAL PICNIC One of the outstanding events of the summer to former Utahns in Southern California was the Annual Picnic of the Paysonian Club or former residents of Pay-soheld Sunday August 4th. About 150 people gathered at Silverado Park, Long Beach, and enjoyed a nice lunch and visiting with old friends. The oldest Payson resident attending was Mrs. Sarah Curtis. The largest individual famliy at the picnic was that of Mr. and Mrs. O. A. McClellan. The family traveling the greatest distance to attend was Mr. and Mrs. Heber Curtis from Mesa, Arizona. The picnic this year was under the direction of Chairman and Secretary,. Mr. and Mrs Elmer Daniels . The new officers of the club elected for the coming year are Dave M. Taylor of Hunington Park and Hye Loutefisock of Glendale. It is hoped that Payson people with relatives in Southern Calif, will inform them of this annual event so that everyone living there will have an opportunity to participate next year. The Cocklebur Ridng Club rode up Payapn Canyon to rebuild and repar the Recreation Home. The cabin was given to the Cockleburs by the Boy Scouts and will be a club house when it is completn, ed. , All the Cocklebur members are urged to meet at the City Park Sunday morning at 9 oclocck and go up to the cabin and help. Carpenters are especially needed and are urged to go. If a large crowd will go next Sunday, Brig Crane says that the job can be completed in about five hours.
