She will represent this community in Miss Iron the county-wid- e County contest at Cedar on August 31. Six beautiful Parowan girls entered the contest, with tho finals being held Thursday evening. The four judges, all from Reaver, interviewed the gfrls and witnessed their at the ward chapel, rarly in the evening. The contestants appeared on the stage of the Firmage Theatre in evening dresses prior to the final announcement. Other contestants, in addition to Miss Adams, were: Miss Virginia Orton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Hills Orton: Miss Marilyn Warner, daughter of Mr.s Clara Warner; Miss Virginia Topham, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 'Silas ToDham; Miss Valori Evans, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Evans and Miss Yuor" daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Henson. Ail were graduates of Parowan High, and selection of the finalist was very close, according to the judges tabulation sheets, with only 20 points separating them all. For the final appearance at the theatre, Jim Barton, the. chairman of the local committee, acted as master of ceremonies, introducing the girls, and providing enjoyment for the crowd. Boyd Mitchell, and Howard Joseph assisted with arrangements. Special lights and background music were provided through courtesy of A. G. Merkley, theatre manager. Miss Adams will represent Parowan at the Coronation Ball at the CSU Fieldhouse, Aug. 31, with the winner to be Miss Iron County and reign over all events during the Fair. The winner also will receive a $100 scholarship to CSU, and an expense, paid trip to Salt Lake City to compete on a state-wid- e basis. Miss Adams was vice president at FHS and active in many student affairs. She attended CSU the past two years, serving as Freshman vice president the first year, and student body vice president last year. She was prom inent in student affairs. She is a member of Phi Rho Omega sorority. She has employment as secretary to Iron County School Board. Judges for the contest were Sheriff and Mrs. Lee R.
