Student Officers Injured In Auto Accident Hear.Summit Fivo student bedy officer and a member of ttta faculty at1 tha Branchy Agricultural college escaped serious injury Sunday afternoon whan the wagon in which they were returning from a student officers convention at Grand Junction, Colo., skidded and overturned about half way between Parowan and Cedar on highway 91. Traveling in the car wore Richard Melvin Rowley, instructor in English and student publication advisor at tho College, and Mist June Decker, student both of Parowan. Other occupants were Willard Armstrong, Cedar City, student body president; Marian Louise Stewart, Alamo, Nev., student secretary; Glory Spandlove, Hurricane editor of student newspaper and L. C. Miles Jr. Cedar City, athletic representative. The three girls were given treatment for shock, bruises and minor lacerations in the Iron County Hospital. Miss Spendlove was the most injured, having sustained collar bone, while one of Junes legs was quite badly injured. The boys injuries were of a less seriously a broken serious nature; but they are now able to be at their home where they are resting and recuperating. The highway partrolmen who investigated the accident said that the station wagon started skidding a rainstrom and overturned twice landing on its side. The glass dur-in- g and body of the wagon were almost completely wrecked. The girls were riding in the back seat and the first mpact knocked them to the floor of the machine and a seat cushion fell ver them which probably accounts for the miraculous way in which they escaped more serious injudy. CARD OF THANKS We wish to express our thanks and appreciation to the many kind friends and neighbors who were so thoughtful during the long illness and death of our dear following the husband and father. Especially do we wish to thank those who sent the beautiful flowers, the food to the home, those who assisted in the funeral services and those who called. W appreciate it all. Mrs. Jos. O. Decker and the Family. |
