Show funeral services held vor for former resident funeral services were held tuesday afternoon in the west ward L D S chapel here for mary A page gunn 75 wife of george R gunn and former resident of parowan carowan Pa rowan who died at her home in san diego california last friday of a heart ailment the services were under the direction of bishop T wendell bayles 1 es they commenced with the combined choirs of both wards singing abide with me under the direction of albert quist accompanied by florence marsden who was at the piano throughout the services the opening prayer was offered by joseph stevens after which a double mixed quartet consisting of roca mitchell pearl benson berta burton della delia marsden albert quist ivan decker robert rowley ana claude orton sang that old rugged cross speakers were john P orton and george stevens with a few closing remarks by bishop bayles between the first two speakers albert quist and ivan decker sang a duet in the Gar garden derf and the closing song that fiul faZ land was sung by the choir S J whitney offered the closing prayer and the grave was dedicated by bishop W L adams pallbearers Pall bearers were jim whitney I 1 verl taylor jack dalton alma stubbs and chester and stanley benson mary ann page gunn was born at parowan carowan may 23 1866 a daughter of daniel and mary ann ritchie page she married george R gunn at parowan carowan september 27 1894 to this union were born seven children four of whom survive she was a graduate from westminster college in salt lake city n nd was on one of the early school t teachers chers of this community she also served as iron county recorder for two terms she moved to california in 1920 where she has since resided she is survived by her husband three daughters mrs marion angell of san diego mrs melba finnigan of lemon grove calif and mrs klea G benson of parowan carowan Pa rowan a son chester gunn of brawley california five sisters ellen D taylor of los angeles elizabeth murdock of salt lake city rose de wight of rosalind calif jane v 1 evans of parowan carowan and cornelia barton I 1 of berkeley calis and a brother wm win page of jackson nevada she is also survived by 17 gra grandchildren nd |
