Show I 1 funeral service held for youth funeral services were conducted tuesday afternoon in the east ward chapel for melvin 15 25 sun son ot of horace and inez myers who died some bome time friday afternoon of 0 a gu gunshot gun n shot hot wound apparently self inflicted 6 at the funeral the opening son sons i come unto me was rendered by a mixed quartet consisting of ida burton lola dalton berta burton bertha Al Ml itchell claude burton karl mitchell Ml howard ward and j ray bay adams with itha at the piano the opening prayer was offered by john L lowder and then r the quartet sang san rock ot of ages speakers were rulon pendleton W clair rowley and bishop will ILL U L adams rex C ward sang 0 S dry those tears accompanied by irene marsden tile the closing number f by the quartet was sometime I 1 well understand and thomas 11 II browley offered tile the benediction at athe the cemetery the grave was tied dedicated by S A matheson besides his parents melvin is survived by three brothers darrell lewis and kent and one sister mae rose marle marie and numerous other relatives the sympathy of the entire community goes out to the bereaved family in their time ot of sorrow ile he had lett left home during the day with the statement to in members embers of tho the family that they might inight not see him again and though he had carried a 3 30 30 rifle with him his statement was not considered seriously when he return his mother thought he had probably gone to the farm home of a boy friend and become alarmed until the follo following wint ap aman when abs he reported his absence to the officers even when it was found that he I 1 been at the bradshaw home I 1 i as was suspected his moths mothe I 1 thought that probably he had caught a ride out through the gap and had gone to lund and to his father who was at a mine west of lund not until sunday morning was it learned definitely that ile he had not gone to his father the officers had checked the night before to learn positively mat bhat he been at any of the farms in the valley they started out to take his track from where he had been seen in the middle of the north field shortly after noon friday when edgar bensons son leon met them and said aid leonard evans brans had found the body at the J A evans sheds in the field and had sent him to report examination revealed that he was shot through the chest on the lett left side and had apparently died without a struggle A possible motive was suggested by a letter which he had bad carried in his pocket requiring him to report at school or legal action would be necessary ile he been in attendance this season |
