Sheriff Ron Robinson went along with an arrangement whereby one of his men would pick up county fine revenue and deposit them in the bank. Commissioner Koy G. Page will check on the availability avail-ability of locked bags and the Sheriff's Department will make arrangements to pick up the money on a regular basis. Rell Argyle, drew praise from his efforts in behalf of the Summit County Fair, from membersof theSummit County Commission. The Commission also moved to appoint Mr. Argyle as President of the Fair Board on the same basis as last year. Under Mr. Argyle's direction direc-tion the fair has moved from an operation in the 'red" situation sit-uation to a paying proposition. proposi-tion. Meeting in regular session last week the commissioners discussed the cleaning of the Courthouse parking lot. Road Supervisor Wendell Stembridge was designated to assign one man from the Road Department to have the parking lot clear of snow after each storm. Other snow removal prob lems were discussed. Building Inspector Vern Huff has requested a certificate certif-icate from County Sanitarian Steve Jenkins after the sanitarian san-itarian has approved a septic tank. Phil Jones and Sherdan Majors of the Skyline Jeep Patrol sought commission approval for a beer license for the Snow Rally to be held near Echo Hill. Commission Chairman G. Melvin Flinders explained that there were so many problems last year that before be-fore any permits would be approved this year certain issues would have to be resolved. re-solved. Tommy Moore, Moore dall, Jr., of Crandall-Walk-er Motor Co., discussed the purchase of a truck by the Commission for county use in September of 1973. Mr. C randall took the position that he felt the truck had been dealt with before it was bid and that the truck purchased was not up to bid specifications. Commissioner Flinders explained the reason the truck was purchased from Rick Warner Ford in Salt Lake was that C randall Walker had not made a bid and that Moore Motor Co. could not supply a truck at that time. Mr. Crandall stated he was unhappy that the truck was purchased outside the Coun ty. Reed Brown told the commissioners com-missioners he was not getting gett-ing any service on clearing the road of snow to the Brown Dairy. He reported the road has not been plowed once this winter and complained about the road organisation. Mr. Brown recommended the road organization go back to each commissioner having jurisdiction of each area. Jack Stanton, State official representing the Low Cost Housing Authority, reported most counties are appointing one member of their staff to act as administrator for the entire funds for all cities in the county as well as the county. Under the federal program Summit County will receive $16,651. The money may be spent to rehabilitate homes of persons per-sons who make less than $3,000 total yearly income. Maximum amount to be spent on any one home is $5,000. Each city can manage their own funds or it can be set up on a county-wide basis, Mr. Stanton said. Funds must be applied for prior to Feb. 20, 1974. Money would be available about 45 days after receipt of the application. The Commissioners moved mov-ed to set up the Low Income Housing on a county -wide basis. They appointed County Coun-ty Planner Grant Orton as the administrator.
