An array of changes, including name changes and program expansions, were announced during the conference. Women’s Inspired Network plans new programs $125 per year, and in addition to free admission to the Tent Talks and other workshops, members will receive a discount card that can be used at various businesses within the community for services and products. “We are excited to start this new chapter of our networks,” Barlow said. SCOTT IWASAKI The Park Record The Park City Women’s Business Network’s name change is a literal “win” for the nonprofit that has a mission to “authentically connect women,” says Executive Director Kathleen Barlow. The nonprofit’s new name is Women’s Inspired Network ’(WIN) Park City, she said. Barlow and her board o y h s r n r s f The Network has been around since the early 1990s, and we felt we needed to put a new face on it...” Kathleen Barlow, Women’s Inspired Network executive director t h schanged the name during the y2019 Women’s Celebration oat the Legacy Lodge over the dpast weekend. The network also changed its Facebook and Instagram names and created two websites: womensinspirednetwork.com and winparkcity. com. The organization also plans new programs and community support, according to Barlow. While the network will continue to hold its annual Tent Talk meetings every second Tuesday of the month, it will begin a new, similar program called Eat, Learn and Grow that will be held between noon and 1 p.m. every third Wednesday, she said. “These sessions will be similar to what is called Lunch and Learn, and they will be held between noon and 1 p.m.,” Barlow said. “Everyone can bring a lunch and hear about business specifics.” Topics will include how business owners can attract more customers and how to expand social media for businesses, she said. Eat, Learn and Grow sessions will be free to WIN members and $15 for guests. In addition to the new monthly program,WIN will expand its monetary support of women in the local business community, Barlow said. “While we will still raise money for college scholarships for girls who attend Park City High School, we are going to add a women-owned business grant,” she said. “We’re still working out the details, but the grant will give women business owners some resources to help better their business reaches such as updating their company’s websites or attending conferences or workshops so they can get certifications for what their businesses focus on.” The next arm of WIN’s mission is to help support young female athletes for a year, Barlow said. “There are athletes in their early 20s who are on their own and on the track into professional sports,” she said. “We figured $5,000 to $6,000 would be a plus for them.” Barlow and her board have been planning these changes for the past 10 months. “We went through a branding exercise to really figure out who and what we wanted to be, and we also listened to the needs of our community,” she said. “We came up with the new name six months ago, so it’s been a challenge to keep our mouths shut.” The reason for the change is simple — it was time, Barlow said. “The Network has been around since the early 1990s, and we felt we needed to put a new face on it,” she said. WIN is currently accepting membership applications, Barlow said.
