Some of the cases were clustered in Park Meadows, according to Police Department logs. The vehicle doors were unlocked in some of the cases, the police were told. The cases included: • on Sunday, Aug. 25 at 3:45 p.m., when the police were told burglars might have targeted two cars in a driveway on Holiday Ranch Loop Road. It was not clear from public police logs when the possible breakins occurred. The police were told three cars were in the drive- way at the time. Someone went through the glove compartment of at least one of the vehicles, according to public police logs. A grocery bag was stolen, the police said. • on Aug. 25 at 2:01 p.m., the police were told a Jeep was broken into on Little Kate Road. The glove compartment and the console were locked, the police were told. The person who contacted the police was unsure whether anything was taken from inside the vehicle. • on Aug. 25 at 10:51 a.m., the police were told someone went through two vehicles on Holiday Ranch Loop Road. Nothing was taken from at least one of the vehicles, but unspecified items inside were moved around, the police were told. Public police logs did not provide information about the other vehicle. • on Aug. 25 at 10:20 a.m., the police received a report that a vehicle on Holiday Ranch Loop Road was targeted. The police were told tools and unspecified equipment were stolen. The A-5 The Park Record loss totaled more than $1,000, according to public police logs. The vehicle, a 2000 Toyota Tundra pickup truck, was unlocked at the time the goods were taken, the police said. • on Monday, Aug. 19 at 9:19 a.m., the police fielded a report of a vehicle burglary on Park Avenue that occurred several days prior to the call to the police. The police were told $25 and sunglasses were taken. The vehicle was unlocked at the time, the police said. The Police Department, meanwhile, on Wednesday, Aug. 21 at 8:49 p.m., received a report from someone indicating someone attempted to break into a work van on Prospector Avenue the previous two nights. The police have long cautioned people to lock vehicles and ensure valuables inside are not visible, saying the suggestions are two methods to thwart burglars. Luxury Real Estate, Legendary Services, Unrivaled Experience PoliCe Blotter Possible rental scam reported in Park City The Park City Police Department last week received a report of a possible scam involving online rental listings, a case that was logged in the period before numerous seasonal employees are expected to start securing housing as they arrive for the ski season. The case was reported on Friday, Aug. 23 at 6:17 p.m. The person who contacted the police reported two properties advertised online could be involved. The person said the people listing the properties requested routing numbers for payment prior to showing the properties, according to the Police Department. The police indicated the circumstances were suspicious. It was not clear from public police logs whether the properties were advertised as short-term rentals or for longer stays. The logs indicated the case stemmed from Empire Avenue, but it was not clear whether the rental was on that road or whether the person who contacted the police was there. Other incidents reported to the Police Department last week included: On Sunday, Aug. 25 at 3:41 a.m., the police received a report of a loud party somewhere along Empire Avenue. The department logged the case as suspected disturbing the peace. The police at 12:01 a.m. received a complaint about parked cars in the vicinity of a construction zone on Lowell Avenue. The person who contacted the police indicated the vehicles were not believed to be allowed there, according to department logs. On Saturday, Aug. 24 at 9 p.m., the police were told of vehicles parked in front of and behind another vehicle on Main Street.
