Though j hard to believe now. when this area was first settled, loegepole pines five feel in diameter covered the surrounding mountainsides. In just a few short years, those same mountainsides were completely com-pletely denuded of trees. The exhibit includes a photo of those bald hills, a video showing a modern logging operation, opera-tion, and a scale model of a lumber mill complete with tiny saws.
