Show Park City Ladies Honored The twenty-ninth annual Park City Ladies Luncheon was a very happy occasion. A special welcome was given by Georgia Grose Peterson of Salt Lake. The honored guests were Chloe Sessions Monson, 93. All eight daughters were there to honor her as well as her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her daughters are: Reba Shields, Violet Terry, Sarah Beckstead, Nine Mair, Lila Jolley, Evelyn Price, Maxine Kummer and Barbara Jolley. Lillian Bircumshaw, ' 89, and her daughters Helen Statham, Lorene Parrish Bircumshaw and also 15 grandchildren were there. Molly , Desdimone, Anne Clark, arid Rose Peterson were also .honored as 80 or over. Rose still lives here in the family home. The tribute to these beautiful ladies was given by Karen Frantz Woolstenhulme of Oakley, Utah. Ruth Frantz, Karen's mother also had four other daughters present, Thelma Lindsay, Dorothy Murnin, Renee Martinez and Louise Burgener. Musical selections were enjoyed by Park City's own Merril Street and Kenneth Richardson playing' guitars with Merril singing his own composition of "Banjo Billy," and other well known songs. Faye and Joan Alvey were down from Idaho. Several of the original members were also there, Ada Don Haran, Lorene Parrish Bircumshaw, Dorothy Don Wortley, Ruth Paxton, Isabelle Barben Jackson, Elsie Jackson, and Lillian Birkbeck all from Salt Lake City, over one hundred ladies with a love of Park City were there. Many prizes were awarded and we wish to thank the businesses and individuals who donated them to help make it a very special day. The rest of the afternoon was spend reminscent and getting acquainter. Nan McPolin and Dorothy Murnin have worked long and hard to keep this tradition alive, so mark your calendar now, the first Saturday in May of 1984 for the 30th annual Ladies Luncheon, because plans are already underway. 1 As usual Gwen Larsen did a great job with arranging flowers for the tables. . |
