W Guild heard of his death after a n. weeks week's Illness with heart ailment at his home homo ini in I Kamas Kama last Saturday morning Mr Guild was one of Summit county's best known citizens and because of ot his natural genial nature and friendliness with all nIl who came In ira contact with him was Vias popular and highly esteemed To Toman Toman man woman or child saint or sinner he always alwa's extended a cordial greeting that lent a ray of light to brighten their pathway In the Journey of life Ufe He was Just and upright in in all his dealings a a progressive and useful citizen a de de- dependable dependable de- de friend an obliging neighbor and a devoted husband He lIe will be missed and mourned by the community in which he ho lived and served for so many years rears Deceased was born In Hiawatha Kan Kan- Kansas Kansas Kansas sas on August 20 20 1870 the son of John and Laura Guild He was In iu his year Before coming west he attended the Kansas college and was admitted to tho the bar bal He came to Utah in 1900 and first located In Marlon Marion this county where he taught school for a n. tIme lime Later he located at Malad Idaho and served as 8 forest ranger Returning to Kamas Karnas he was appointed postmaster r and held that position for fourteen years He was also a n former member of ot the Kamas town board I Mr Guild was a long life-long Republican I and in 1038 was elected a year four-year county count commissioner holding that post post- position position tion and that of chairman of ot the Sum Sum- Summit Summit Summit mit county welfare board at the time of his death At the last state election Mr Mi Guild was elected as a presidential elector on the tho Republican ticket He was prominent In business affairs in his homo town and an active live stock grower Surviving are his widow Mrs Edna Anna Pack Guild of Kamas a sister Mrs M.
