volunteer fire fir department particularly the various committees having the da tails of the affair in charge are entitled to their full share of 0 credit in making it the great success it proved to be tile the rint day tuesday was the opening day ol of the convention at that time practically every business house on main Alain street was tastefully decorated and many private homes were be ba decked with tile the national colors in I 1 honor of the coming visitors the ju juvenile venile dand under the leadership of J C was on the streets early discoursing excellent music and winning many favorable comments on their attractive attract ie appearance and good marching tile tha band with a large delegation of ll 11 cal al firemen nere at tile the train to breet the delegates tile the latter were escorted up main alain street to society hall where tile convention was hell and after refreshments had been served and selections played by the juvenile band mayor P J tallon extended a cordial welcome to the visitors giving them the freedom of the city and urging them to have lave tile the time of their lives in the best mining camp in the state president J J fitzgerald on behalf of the association responded to the welcome expressing appreciation to the citizens of park city tor for the loyal support makaro it possible to hold the convention in our city after the appointment of a committee on credentials consisting of sullivan ef eureka wilcox of spanish fork and stoker of 0 bountiful a recess was taken until afternoon at the afternoon session secretary C J stillman of bingham and treasurer reuben simpson ot of salt lake read their annual reports which showed the state organization to be in excellent condition the reports of the standing committees were also read all being adopted it was decided to appoint an all ago age limit committee and president fitzgerald named 11 S townsend of park city W D wilson of 0 sandy and W J of bingham this practically concluded the business of the afternoon and an adjournment journ ment was taken the cities represented at it the first meeting were bountiful bingham eureka midvale provo prove sandy spanish fork Spring springville ville mammoth salt lake and park city the second day the juvenile band was on the street an hour before train time playing several selections marching to the train to meet delegates and escorting them to the hall the second days session was called to order by president fit berald it 9 a m and after a corret duet by the bircumshaw Lr others accompanied on the piano by miss ethel BI blackler ackler business busl nesa was as proceeded with reports of different committees vere read and adopted carrying with them various recommend recommendations athons there were interesting discussion regarding delegates and their ladles ladies nearly a hundred outside firemen from arious or lr lius ious cities in uniform park city file department fifty strong in neat uniforms with the big chemical chemic pl band has made during the few months of its organization leader is surely entitled to gibat g eat credit tor for ills his clever work in advancing tile the boys to their preset effic efficiency ency
