Show llantRICS Wednesday, August PARK 21, 1974 city' LMlTB m August 18, 1974 Park City Coalition Park City, Utah 84060 Dear Editor, As a citizen of Park City, I would like to thank the Coalition for their forethought and concern for our towns cleanliness. Your attractive trash cans placed strategically about town were instrumental in keeping Main Street amazingly litter free. You performed a com- mendable residents service for both and visitors. Thank you! Joy Johnson August 18, City Manager Wayne Mathews reported that several breaks in the citys water lines had caused one of the citys reservoirs to drain completely on Thursday, August 15th. Ruptures near the Homestake Condominiums, 2 Seasons Restaurant, and Naildriver Court were repaired, but another break was yet to be located by this past weekend. A Victor Buck Member of P.C.A.F. Anyone who has worked on the Art Festival knows how nuch work goes into making it a success. I am very proud to be affiliated with the Art Festival and once again thank all of you who worked so hard to make this years Festival a huge success. John Stagg President Park City Arts Foundation August 16, Water Loss Explained S9I79B could sell food and drinks at the Festival and upon our reply of No, they willingly complied? The lady in question says she does not need a state sales tax number but all our artists do! Does she have a Food Handlers permit? This question was not asked by the Mayor or City Council. I do hope that all the detractors, who are only there with advice or critical comments a week before or after a Festival, put on a good show for us next year. All my best wishes to them. August 1974 To the staff of the Coalition : In your first six months of publication you have rendered a service not only to our community by keeping locals informed, but service to the general reading public by presenting a true picture of our town. Your photographs are outstanding, your news stories are articulate, and each of your specials has appeal for some segment of your readers. You are . indeed to be congratulated for the results of your efforts and I certainly wish you continued success. Sincerely, Editor: In response to the many derogatory letters published in both the Park Record and the Park City Coalition, and on the street comments, and calls to members of the Park City Arts Foundation homes, and finally, in the treatment of the members at the August 15th Council meeting by the Mayor, I wish to allay all fears because as far as I feel, there will be no more mistakes made as I will not inflict the Art Festival on the citizenry of Park City anymore. We felt that granting of licenses to street vendors would complicate cleaning and policing of these vendors, and that the year-roun- d merchants should be the prime benefactors as well as the artists of the Festival. In order to expell air in lines, which resulted from the draining of the reservoir, a valve was opened in a line which runs above King Road.
