Jimmy decided to move again and this time it was to Cleveland, Ohio, via a short stop of a couple of years in Evanston, Wyoming. In Cleveland, around 1942, not only did he join the Army, he also met his wife, Helen. While in the Army, he was first stationed in Columbus, Ohio, for two years, and was then transferred to Germany where he spent three years until he was discharged in 1946. He returned to Utah to continue 1930, v mys Place opened. Jimmy and his family, three boys, Jim Jr., Kim, and Vance, and his daughter, Judy, work long hours in the restaurant. It has paid off, even though he admits that he was a little scared when he first opened. Through hard work and greatly appreciated patronage by the townspeople, Jimmy Goo has shown that Jimmys Place is a nice place to eat.
