Last week it was the Tigers who hosted the Hawks and suffered suf-fered a loss to them by nearly the same margin that separated the two teams in their first meeting. Alta's 56-51 overtime win over Orem Thursday brings Orem's overall record to 10-5. "It was a pretty hard fought battle on both sides," Houle commented. com-mented. ( - The Tigers struggled early, scoring just 5 points in the first eight minutes of play. Alta didn't do much better, garnering just 9 points in the first quarter. Turnovers may have made the difference for Orem, who outscored Alta 28-22 in the second sec-ond half. The Timpanogos Timber-wolves Timber-wolves added another win to their record last week when they handled Hillcrest, 44-32. "We had a good four quarters of play," Coach Jeri Kelley commented. Bruin Sarah Pratt scored 14 points against Timpanogos Bengals. Devyn Hunter had 12 points, while Jenna Lisonbee and Cathy Sawaya added 9 and 8 points each. ... After Tuesday's win over Brighton, Timpanogos faced cross-town rival MountainView. The Bruins maintained their undefeated un-defeated status with a 65-26 win over the T-wolves. The Bruins marched out to a 30-4 first period finish that did in any of Timp's hopes for an upset. Sarah Pratt led Mountain View with 14 points, while Erin Thorn added 10 over half of them from behind the three point line. Both Orem and Timpanogos continue region play this week. Tomorrow, Timpanogos hosts American Fork and Orem takes on Jordan at home. Clark Building. The free lecture by Igor A. Kotler is sponsored by the BYU History Department and the David M. Kennedy Center for , International Studies, and the public is welcome. Kotler, born in Leningrad in 1956, became a "refusenik" in 1980 when his application to emigrate from the Soviet Union was turned down. He and his family finally received permission permis-sion to emigrate in 1987 to Cincinnati, Cin-cinnati, where he worked as a research fellow at Hebrew Union College. He is now a doctoral candidate can-didate at UCLA, where he is writing his dissertation on the Jews of Belarus in the 1920s. He also teaches modern Jewish history his-tory and the history of the Jews in the Soviet Union at the University of Judaism in Los Angeles. He is the author of 25 articles and books on the. Russian Rus-sian Jewish experience. Spielberg's foundation Was established in 1994 following the successful completion and release of the film "Schindlera List." Several aging Holocaust survivors in Poland showed a willingness, even an urgency, to tell their stories, and by December Decem-ber 1996, the foundation had videotaped 24,347 eyewitness testimonies. The foundation's current database holds information on more than 46,000 survivors worldwide, proving that it is well on its way to its self proclaimed goal of developing "the largest online multimedia archive of survivor testimonies ever assembled." Interviews have been conducted con-ducted in 24 languages and in 35 countries. The archive will be made available online to five repositories in New York, Jerusalem, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles and at Yale University.
