She was born in Salt Lake City May 16, 1891 to John Hall and Helga Carlson. She married Samuel Nelson in 1914 and they were later divorced. She then married Tom William Wilkins in 1924, and he died in 1930. She then married Benjamin W. Knox in 1932 in Salt Lake City. She received her education in the Salt Lakce I I: !- . She retired in 1965. She was a member of the Reorganized LDS Church. Survivors include her husband, one son and three daughters, John W. Wilkins, El Paso, Tex; Mrs. William (Majorie) Allison, Chatsworth, Ga.; Mrs. Ruth Ellison, Central Valley, Calif.; Mrs. Reuben (June) Pearson, Sandy; 15 grandchildren, 23 greatgrandchildren, great-grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Lenore Hedelius, Hammond, Ind.; Mrs. Allice Drissel, Wallsburg, Utah; and Mrs. Viola Neff, Cairo, Ga. Brown Calherin Scott Brown, 92, of Provo, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 1978 at Utah Valley Hospital of causes incident of age. She was born Feb. 26, 1886 in Deseret, Millard County, a daughter of Robert Logan and Catherine Lattimer Scott. She married Samuel James Brown Nov. 28, 1906 in El Paso, Tex., and the marriage was solemnized later in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died March 6, 1950. Mrs. Brown was active in the LDS Church in the 26th Ward. She served as president of the Relief Society, a mission in Argentina in 1950 and in other positions in the auxiliaries. : Mrs. Brown was a genealogist and temple worker. For many years, she taught school in Mexico. She moved to Salt Lake City after her mission, but returned to Provo two years later. Mrs. Brown was nominated as Utah Mother of the Year from Provo in 1969 and was the first runner-up in the state. Survivors include five sons and three daughters, Ralph E. Brown, Mesa, Ariz.; Mrs. Margaret Cluff and David S. Brown, Colonia Juarez, Mexico; Murlyn L. Brown, Orem; Harold Brown, LaMesa, Calif.; Chester L. Burial took place in Provo City Cemetery. William Birrel Sr. William Birrel Sr., 86 of Orem, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 1978. He was born May 31, 1892 in Bluntrye, Scotland to James Walker and Janet Robertson Birrell. Mr. Birrell was a founder and partner with his brothers in the Virrell Bottling Co., a soft drink firm. The brothers started the business in 1913 and sold the Salt Lake City operation in 1964. Mr. Birrell was an officer in Utah Manufacturers Association and past commander of the American Legion in Cedar City. Funeral services took place Saturday in Salt Lake City. Burial took place in the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
