Show J Ruth A. Bezzant Ruth Adams Bezzant, 80, of Pleasant Grove, died Sat. Feb. 21, 1976 in anOrem nursing home of causes incident to age. She was born in Orem, April 19, 1895 to William and Jessie Townsent Adams. She married Albert Bezzant Oct. 27, 1915 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died May 26, 1970. She attended schools in Orem. She was a Relief Society visiting teacher for many years. Survivors include three sons and four duaghters, Mark Bezzant, Dean Gezzant, Mrs. Eldon (Evelyn) Schoonover and Mrs. Orval (Leah) Bullock, all of Pleasant Grove; Harold Bezzant, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Calvin (Ranae) Lewis, Lehi; Mrs. Fay (Theda) Evans, Layton, 27 grandchildren; 39 great - grandchildren; two brothers and four sisters, Percy Adams, Orem; Mrs. Jessie Peay, Provo; Mrs. lone Orgill, Hurricane; Harold Adams, San Mateo, California; Leola Collins and Velma McDonald, Los Angeles. Funeral services were held at noon Tuesday and she was buried in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Cem-etery. Senior Citizens There will be no program at the Senior Citizens Center today due to the banquet being held there this evening. Friday night, one of the BYU Branches will bring a pot luck dinner for the senior citizens at 6:30 at the center. The Sr. citizens will provide pro-vide the program. Those who come to the dinner are asked to bring their own place settings. On March 4, the harmonica band will play for matinee dancing. danc-ing. This activity is a regularly scheduled program for each first Thursday of every month. Next Wednesday the harmonica band will travel to Salt Lake City to entertain a group there. The blood pressure clinic will be held March 17. Bingo is played each Tuesday following lunch. Quilting, table games and billiards are available avail-able daily from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Lunch is served daily Monday to Friday at noon. All should bring his own place settings. The council also approved ap-proved a job description for the chief of police, the granting of beer a cabaret licenses, the annexation of property at 1700 N. 700 E., the revision of the FY 76 Housing and Community Development Block Grant and Entitlement program. The council coun-cil also tabled a decision concerning con-cerning the funding of a court appointed counsel for indigent defendants. The engineering for Special Improvement Lighting District 12 will be performed by Utah Power and Light. According Ac-cording to Director of Public Works Jack Jones, the engineering engineer-ing will be accomplished inabout four weeks, after which a public hearing will be held. The council also approved a job description for the Orem Chief of Police. The description was needed to facilitate advertising for a new police chief. Freds Lounge at 826 N. State was graned a class B beer and Class A Cabaret License. The Calypso Lounge was granted a class B beer and class A Cabaret license. The council requested re-quested that Acting Police Chief Gerald Nielson investigate the two establishments to see that they are conforming to the law in every respect. The council also discussed dis-cussed the problem of setting annexation fees. Albert Haines was directed by the council to develop a formula for determining determ-ining annexation fees based on the city's equity and capital improvements. im-provements. According Accord-ing to City Judge Joe Dimick, the program has been needed for at least three years. He said there were cases pending at the present where the defendants could not afford legal counsel. The proposal was tabled for a period of 30 days so that City Manager Al Haines can investir gate the proposal and make a recommendation. John Quist has been named chairman of the parade, scheduled to take place during Summerfest, June 21-26. Mr. Quist outlined tentative programs and seems to have a definate plan in mind. He would like to pursue plans for the parade this summer with the idea of a definate def-inate focus on the Bicentennial celebration. The possibility of changing the parade to a more convenient time earlier in the day on the 26th of June was discussed. After Af-ter the pros and cons were fed in, the group went on record as preferring the earlier time for the parade, but state that this must be passed on by the Orem Or-em Boosters, who are the prime movers of the celebration. The chamber will support what ever decision the boosters make in this regard. Max Christensen is general chairman of Summerfest. Summer-fest. The calendars cal-endars have been a long time project and is one of the least expensive and the best received services that the chamber is making to business and schools in the area. The group decked that they would consider mak-king mak-king the calendars available in two sizes; the larger one for offices of-fices and business and a smaller size more suitable for homes.
