Show Taxpayers Can Check Otf For Election Fund Utah taxpayers can again designate des-ignate a dollar of their federal taxes to the 1976 Presidential Election Campaign Fund, Roland V. Wise, District Director of Internal Revenue for Utah, 'said today. It's the last chance for taxpayers tax-payers to contribute to the 1976 fund," Mr. Wise pointed out, "because "be-cause future designations will go to the 1980 Presidential campaign fund. Contributions to the fund, which are to be distributed among all eligible Presidential candidates, does not increase the amount of tax paid or decrease the amount of the refund due, Mr. Wise said. To designate, taxpayers simply check the "Yes box on line 8 of Form 1040 or 1040A. On a joint return, each tax-payer has the option of designating to the fund. Taxpayers who do notwish to designate can decline be checking check-ing the No box. "For that matter, Mr. Wise added, "a husband can check 'Yes' and his wife 'No', or vice versa." Although the filing deadline has passed, taxpayers may still designate des-ignate $1 from their 1974 taxes for the fund, if they did not do so last year, by filing a Form 1040X no later than December 31, 1976, according to the district dis-trict director. This form may be obtained from any local IRS office. V K4 ' f 1 a M-1 v. 1 1 1 ; 5-: ' fr . ...... 1 H ..
