Already the days are growing longer. Bought me the gaudiest plarld the English call it tarter! tar-ter! -- suit ever you saw. When I showed it to My Lady Mother he looked startled and fin ally said, "It doesn't look a bit like you." Well, that's why I bought it. I'm sick of looking like me. If that isn't a sure sign of spring, I don't know what is. I'm listening to a question and answer program on the radio. All the talk of whether we are going socialist or not. Our woes would be taken care of if we didn't want things done. We have to have this, 'hat and the other, but when we have to pay for it that ole debil government raises its head. A good dea-l of the grousing grou-sing that goes on In this country coun-try comes from people who don't even bother to vote, the ONE way to hold the line. My Hollywood brother was here over New Year's. My NORTH Hollywood brother. There's a difference, you know. He's absolutely sure the country coun-try is going to pot. I'm absolutely abso-lutely sure the country Is going go-ing to pot, too, but our rea- yUgly American' Reviewed for Women's Club Mrs. William Whittaker reviewed re-viewed "The Ugly Americam" for members of Orem Women's Club Wednesday at the Scera Lounge. We don't either of us have to worry as we'll never get the kind of worlds wj want and it's probably just as well. I bought the January issues of my favorite fashions mags, VOGUE and BAZAAR. I buy these not only for the style layouts which make me laugh like crazy but also for the travel features and the off beat fiction. I'm happy to announce that the fashions aren't QUITE "as gauche and ridiculous as last month's. We arre making progress. pro-gress. I hope she won't want to go with me this year. She shouldn't be climbing stairs and hurrying across streets and right there is one of my pet peeves. The lights change much too fast to allow elderly people peo-ple and that's me, Dearie, to get across. One has to start on the yellow light and hurry like everything to make it. People who are crippled or rheumatic just can't get there without gasping for breath on the far curb. It isn't a matter of starting late, either. As I remarked, one has to edee out on the yellow light, especially on main streets that are ar little wider than ordinary. You remember the orange tulips I found and planted? I'm afraid they were to old. They look pretty miny. Have four sprouts but I don't know, They just don't Jook happy. I haven't given up on them, you understand. After all, the Christmas cactus that 1 was afraid was done for is blooming bloom-ing and is covered with buds, bless it. Well, bed time. I'll make the rounds and secure the doors. Make sure that Putsie, my cat, is in his place, and call it a day. My alarm went off at 4:45 this morning. Bye, now.
