Laird Swenson, stalwart in the Provo line, hit from underneath under-neath to open the game. Neil Riggs canned a couple of free throws to give the bulldogs a four point lead. Orem was then able to break the scoring barrier, with Kay Wilkinson hitting at the foul line. Wil kinson snapped the strings on a side shot to close the gap, but a couple of field goals and a foul shot lengthened the Provo lead. Provo held a 16 10 lead at the end of first quarter. Orem went ahead, in the second quarter, 23-22 on a layup by Gene Nuttall. How ever this was the only time Orem led in the game, the Bulldogs leading 30-23 at half time. The third period was much the same story as the first two periods. Bargerson, Swenson, and Wright hit for the big points, for Provo, as did Danny Goulding and Sid Paulson for the Tigers. The Bulldogs jump ed to a 40-32 third quarter lead. Both teams started hitting in the fourth quarter as Provo garnered 21 points to Orem's 20, most of these via the foul route. Mrs. Gappmayer will be con fined indefinitely. oo Mrs. Alice Williams was ad mitted to Utah Valley hospital where she is being treated for a leg infection. She is the wife of Howard Williams, wno re cently was released from the hosnital having an operation on his back. They are the parents par-ents of six children. 'Communism World Plan" was the title of a movie shown to members of the Orem Business and Professional Women's Wo-men's Club Tuesday evening at a local cafe. William Sessions, Ses-sions, safety coordinator at Colummbia- Geneva Steel Co., presented the film. The film stated that Lenin had said, "The United States will be the last bastion against world Communism. After we have conquered the rest of the world, the U. S. will fall into our hands like over-ripe fruit." The Com munists have reached this stage, where we are the only ones left. The rest of the world is Commun- ist-controled including Hawaii. They are only 90 miles from our Florida Coast in Cuba. FR 4-0725 Exchange Assemblies Carbon High School will send an exchange assembly to be presented to the Orem High studentbody on Wed., Jan. 11, it was announced by Bryca Christenson. The Orem High exchange assembly, which was presented present-ed to Carbon High earlier, will travel to Payson High School on Jan. 27 for another performance. Payson will come to Orem on Feb. 24. The idea of exchange assemblies as-semblies for this year was begun be-gun In the first Region 5 Council Coun-cil meeting in September at Orem High School. Co-ordinated by each school's student-body student-body secretary each school in Region 5 agrees to present a program of entertainment to each of the other schools in the region. In return that school receives a similar assembly as-sembly from the other schools. Participating schools are Orem, Payson, Carbon, Spanish Span-ish Fork, Springville and Provo. Orem High Library Orem High School's library was the recipient of the gift of the past eight years' issues of the National Geographic Magazine donated' by Mrs James B. Ferguson. The announcement of the contribution was made by Mrs. Dorothy Stratton, OHS librarian. lib-rarian.
