Business and problems of the various organi-zations organi-zations were discussed. A fine talk by the Bishop commended all officers and teachers for their efforts and service rendered the ward. Refreshments were served to the large group. Adele Fielding is leaving Friday Fri-day to spend two weeks with her sister, Mrs. Grace Knight, in California. Mrs. Knight has a new baby girl. Mr- and Mrs. John W. Mecham and family of Spanish Fork and Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Christensen and children were the dinner guests at the home of Blanche Christensen on Thanksgiving. Mrs. Newell attended morning and afternoon sessions of a special business meeting at Hotel Utah. Orem Women's Club Sets Dinner Dance A large group enjoyed the annual an-nual Christmas program of the Orem Women's Club held Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon at the Scera lounge. Mrs. Ed Simmons, Mrs. Boyd Asay and Mrs. N. C. Snow were hostesses at the door. Mrs. L S. Maycock presided and gave lovely Christmas greeting. The nativity, taken from St. Luke was read by Mrs. Ralph Knight. Joye Allred entertained en-tertained the erouD by singing the selections, 'White Christmas' and 'I Hear the Bells on Christmas Christ-mas Day." Mrs. Wallace Kendall beautifully told Henry Van Dyke's story "The Lost Word." Mrs. James Norton was co-chairman co-chairman for the musical program. pro-gram. President Emmons reports the enrollment in the Primary has increased' from forty at the beginning of the season to ninety at the present time. Vivian Meik, Deseret News political columnist, delivered the keynote address at the morning general session, stressing the importance im-portance of an informed press in preserving the ideals of the democracy. Mr- Meik has known many of the key figures in present pres-ent European governments. Other conference highlights were talks by Kenneth C. Ben-nion, Ben-nion, Salt Lake City advertising man, "Selling Your Publication to the Advertiser," and by Al Warden, sports editor, Ogden Standard-Examiner, "The Inside on Sports." Discussions and section meetings meet-ings on problems relating to school publications rounded out the program for the day. Open to visitors during the conference were exhibits in the Joseph Smith building and at the "Y" Press. The ten delegates from Lincoln Lin-coln were Iva Reynolds, John M. Freckleton, advisors; Faye Allred, Birdene Terry, Sallie Hawkins, Jean Maycock, Joan Loveless, Diane Dixon, Lee L. Jones and Faye Rowley.
