BYU Drama Dept To Present "John Loves Mary'' The third play to be produced n the Brigham Young University Univers-ity 1951-52 drama series is set to open January 22 in College Hall. It is the delightful threej act comedy, "John Loves Mary." Written by Norman Krasna, the hilarious marital mix-up was produced by Rodgers and Ham-merstein Ham-merstein in Booth Theatre, New York. Feb. 4, 1947, where it met with fine succtss. According to Morns Clinger, director, and member of the BY speech faculty, the cast has been chosen,' and rehearsals are well under way. Cast members include Joyct Summerlade, Portland, Ore., as Mary McKinley; Wesley Craig-Portland, Craig-Portland, as Fred Taylor- Keith Orme, Idaho Falls, Ida., as John Lawrence; Wilford Smith, of the BYU English faculty, as Senator James McKinlev: Alice Brady, Las Vegas, Nev., as Mrs. McKin ley; Barbara Hall, Burley, Ida., as Lilly, the English girl; Nanette Nan-ette Crewe, Monrovia, Calif., as Miss Beechwood, red cross worker; work-er; Jack Roberts, Phoenix, Ariz., as General Biddle; Ned Hoopes, Norwalk, Calif., as Oscar, the elevator man; and Jim Fife, Bur lingame, Calif., as ex-Lieutenant O'Leary. Slack, Southern division divis-ion manager for the power company com-pany announced. '"Following a long established custom," said Mr. Slack, "UP&L will supply this electricity, without with-out charge, to illuminate Yule-tide Yule-tide decorations on community streets and parks wherever distribution dis-tribution capacity is available." He reported that last year the power company provided free electricity for lighting 38,848 holiday bulbs in 103 cities and towns of its service area. Of these, some 6,763 bulbs were lighted in 21 communities of the Southern division.
