Of the 50 nim-rods nim-rods lucky enough to draw permits, per-mits, only 46 turned out for the hunt, every hunter getting his buck antelope. According to Merril Hand, chief law enforcement enforce-ment officer, this was one of the cleanest hunts we have experienced. exper-ienced. Only one female was killed. Last fall the hunt for antelope was foregone because of the trapping program later carried out. One hundred forty three antelope were trapped in Daggett County and shipped to other parts of the state that were considered con-sidered good antelope range. The S. I. The famous engineer. Leon Mosieff built ; an important bridge, the bridge across the Ta-coma Ta-coma Narrows, third longest suspension bridge in the world, costing six and a half million dollars. Now an engineer, the same as you or I, can have things go wrong, can suffer terribly over mistakes, even though they may be the mistakes of those working under him. , 8v m CAKXEGIE in the newsrecl. The concrete roadway of this bridge swayed and buckled in the wind as though It had been made of thin wooden veneer. Mr, Mosieff himself didn't do every stroke of the work in building this bridge; but Mr. Mosieff bore the brunt of the criticism, of the responsibility. re-sponsibility. And he had to take it! He arrived in Seattle, Washington, one night worried, tired, exhausted. At eleven o'clock that ni-jht, Doug Welch got him on the telephone, waking him from a deep sleep, badly needed. Naturally, Mr. Mosieff was indignant. First, because of the rude awakening at an unreasonable hour. Second, newspaper reporters had been ridiculing him and he had vowed that he would never again talk to any of them. But Doug Welch said something in his first sentence that made Mr. Mosieff sit up in bed and talk to him for three quarters of an hour. Here is what he said: "Mr. Mosieff, you are the most famous designer of bridges in this world today. A lot of people don't know beans about designing bridges and so they have condemned and ridiculed you. My paper feels that it is time you had an opportunity to tell your side of the story." It was just these few words of sincere appreciation and understanding that turned an angry man into a friend, that cleared up a lot of things for a lot of people who had not understood under-stood an engineer's problems. And you and I and Joe Doakes can all achieve miracles in human relations by honestly trying to see things from the other person's point of view.
