The team played about 40 games over the summer and came up with a pair of tournament tourna-ment wins, including one at a 24-team tournament in Washington Wash-ington last month. According to head coach Mike Conner, the team's toughest tournament tourna-ment was at BYU where the team won its pool before losing to Alta in overtime to go (i-l in the tournament. Among the biggest stories for the Tigers was the emergence emer-gence of H-foot-11 post player Ian Harward who finally got healthy and turned into a dominant domi-nant presence in the post. "Really, really hard work; a lot of time in the weight room," Conner said when asked what has made the dif ference for I larvvard. "Then a big part is he's healthy now too." Another big story was the play of Pablo Coro, a guard from Chile who will play for the Tigers this season. "He's a good player," Conner Con-ner said. "He's a big, left-handed left-handed guard who is going to help us." Coach Conner feels like his team has made great strides over the summer and believes that they will be a force in a tough Region 7 in the upcoming upcom-ing season. "We played together really well and we're deep," Conner said. "Just the overall team play was the most encouraging thing." In addition to Harward and Coro, Jordan Egbert, Steve Warner, and Jake Green also played big roles over the summer. sum-mer. Although Conner thinks ( )rem will be tough in the upcoming season, he also acknowledges that the entire region appears to be better. "Provo is really good," he said. "There's not a bad team in our league now." Given the team's recent progression, pro-gression, don't be surprised to see the Tigers mixing it up atop the region when basketball basket-ball season comes around.
