"It is brutal. I was in pretty sad shape. I couldn't sleep at night it hurt so bad." In the last few minutes on the tread mill, Drill Instructor Jason Sabin quietly tells his trainee what he expects him to do with the free weights and machines. Then a fast-paced Pennywise CD begins to pound out rock music while Sabin shouts for his "PTs" or physical trainees to "Stay with it, stay with it, come on." He uses a controlled rage to coach them. "You have to be loud, obnoxious ob-noxious and funny at the same time," he said. "It's the only job I'll ever do where I can yell at people and call them names and they love me." Talking back isn't an option because the PTs' bodies have become sweat powerhouses and heavy breathing machines as they strain to move in the direction di-rection Sabin tells them to go. The French fries and chocolate eclairs no longer seem worth it. "Once you have been through Hell Week, you're like family," Farnsworth said. Physically anybody can go through the training, "but mentally men-tally you've got to want to do it," said Farnsworth. Group rates are available at Delta Company and there are nine 1-hour classes a day at 5-10 a.m. and 4-8 p.m. Sabin said at least half of the trainees need to get a doctor's release to take the course because of their poor physical condition.
