April 17, 2008 Almond helps Flash end season on winning note NeHIMtfamer In case Morris Almond doesn't come back, he thought he would leave Utah flash fans with a little vmvhm to remember him by. What to give Flash fans for a going away present? Score. Shoot the 3. Drive the paint. Spot -up jumper. Burn the defease. Almond went all Kobe on LA. on Saturday night in the McKay Event Center. Me cored 43 points to help Utah close out the season whh a 130-1 18 win over the m Angeles An-geles D-Fenders. The 130 points was a season sea-son high and left Utah whh a record of 24-26. Utah finished four games behind the sixth and final playoff spot in its inaugural in-augural D-League season. "It was a good way to go out, to beat a team we haven't beaten in the last couple of games," Almond said. "I was excited to play, that's been the biggest thing. There's really no substitute for playing time and getting experience. It's been a good thing (playing in the EMjeague). I'm grateful for the Flash and the organization organi-zation that I could stay here at home and be in contact whh the Jazz at the same time." Almond made A-T5 shots from the field including four 3-pointers. 3-pointers. He scored 21 points in the first half to help Utah take the lead at intermission. "We came out flat last time (we played Springville). We've taken care of a few things since that time. That's what the preseason is for. We feel like we're ready to play," said Mountain View coach Chris Cooper. They got the bounces the first time we played them and today we got the bounces.
