Zina Amanda Larsen Newell, 99, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2K)7. Zina was born on January Janu-ary 8, 1908 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Jens Christian Chris-tian Larsen and Adelaide Prestwich larsen. Zina married Arthur Ar-thur Artemus "Art" Newell on January 1 1, 1928 in the Salt Lake Temple. They spent their married life in Orem, Utah. She was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many callings. She worked at Geneva Elementary School as the Manager of School Lunch for 23 years. She was famous for her handmade quilts, that she freely gave away. She made many star quilts, queen and other kinds. Proceeded in death by her loving lov-ing husband, parents, and all but one of her siblings. She is survived by her sister Adelia Johnson, age 84, her children, Ramona (Melvin) Mortensen of Tucson, Arizona, Ari-zona, Evelyn (Simpson) Day of Clearfield, Utah, Grant (Joy) Newell of 11 1 "V""' " 1 "I Vancouver, Washington, Larry (Joan) Newell of Orem, Utah, 34 grandchildren grandchil-dren and 97 and 64 great -great The family would like to thank the staff of Rocky Mountain Care Center for their devoted service. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 7, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Suncrest 7th LDS Ward Chapel, 891 West 130 North in Orem, Utah. Friends and family fam-ily may gather Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Sundberg Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street, Orem and Saturday at the church one hour prior to services. He was born Septem- ber5, 1915 in S.L.C., son of Jacob and Therese Reiter. Re-iter. Married Ada Barton January 29, 1945, later solemnized in the salt Lake Temple. They had three chil dren Michael, Ronald & Barbara. Married Florence Flor-ence Bosch October 7, 1968 and increased his family by three children chil-dren Linda, Donald & Tamara. Being of the greatest generation genera-tion he served in the 112th Calvary Cal-vary regiment in the Asian Pacific during World War II. He was proud of his service and he was a true patriot. He worked for the Post Office for over 30 years. He loved the game of golf and played it very well and could boast of four holes-in-one, in his lifetime. He was a faithful member of the LDS church and served in many positions and being a temple worker was his favorite. He was loved by his children, grandchildren, grandchil-dren, great grandchildren & great great grandchildren and was an example of Christ like love. His greatest love in life was time spent with his family. He was generous with his time, talent and money keeping the treasury in business by distributing $2 dollar bills. He had a wonderful sense of humor and he made friends everywhere he went. We cherish every minute we had to spend with him and he will be missed by all. Survived by his brother Tony (Melba), children Michael (Kathleen), Ronald (De-neille), (De-neille), Barbara Jones (Daniel), Donald R. Bosch (Jeanine), Linda B. Smith (Jack) 23 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, & 5 great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by wife Ada Barton, and wife Florence Kendall Bosch, daughter and son-in-law Tamara & Ron Brown, daughter-in-law Elise Reiter, brothers Joseph Reiter, Otto Reiter, sisters Ruth Farrell and Eva Hall. A viewing will be held Wednesday, Wednes-day, April 11, 2007 at Jenkins-Soffe Jenkins-Soffe South Valley 1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy.( 10600 S.) from 6-8 pm. Services in his memory will be held Thursday , April 12 at 12:00 noon at the Granite LDS Chapel 9575 South 3100 East, with a viewing view-ing 1 hr prior to the services at the church.
