Anderson represents the fourth generation in funeral service. For Earl, his father, funeral service was not a way of life. but. indeed, life itself. When Anderson was old enough, he started washing wash-ing cars and vacuuming the building. Then he advanced to making calls and serving an apprenticeship. Anderson was awarded his BA degree from BYU in 1967. the same year he began his experiences on the Board cf Directors for the Utah Funeral Directors Association. Asso-ciation. He worked his way up through all of the chairs and in 1975-76 became the President of the Association. While he was on the board, he helped to establish a pro fessional status and recognition recogni-tion for a funeral director by expanding the requirements for licensing.
