A resident resi-dent of Ameri can Fork, Utah. Elizabeth died from complications of a pulmonary infection, after af-ter a valiant year-long fight against leukemia. leuke-mia. Llizabeth received her B.S. in Elemen- tary and Special Education from Brigham Young University and a Masters in Elementary Science Education Ed-ucation and Instructional Technology Technolo-gy from the University of Virginia. F rom 1989 to 1998, she taught 2nd - 4th grade at Clark Elementary in Charlottesville, VA. During those years, she received numerous national na-tional honors and awards including; the Phi Beta Kappa "Outstanding Educator for Central Virginia," the Northern Life "Education's Unsung Heroes" Award, the 1997 National residential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science, and the Virginia Christa McAuIiffe Fellowship Fel-lowship Award. From 1998 until 2005, Elizabeth taught at Sharon Elementary in Orem, UT and Barrett Bar-rett Elementary in American Fork, UT. During those years she was awarded many grants and received the Utah's Science Teacher Association As-sociation Award for Outstanding Science Educator. She also created and directed a national award-winning science outreach program for inner city children. She authored many educational grants, developed devel-oped state educational curricula and assessment measures, and greatly enjoyed being a state science presenter pre-senter for Utah's CORE Academy. Elizabeth enjoying painting with watercolors and creating works of art. She loved the outdoors and could be frequently found bike riding, rid-ing, hiking and backpacking. Elizabeth was a stalwart member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Lat-ter-Day Saints and served in many church callings. She especially loved working with the Primary children and sharing her musical talents with them. She was an accomplished ac-complished pianist throughout her life. Elizabeth was a devoted visiting visit-ing teacher and fellowshipped dear friends. Elizabeth is survived by her cherished cher-ished son, Dallas Taylor Perkins of Provo, UT, her husband, Karl W. Thomas, her parents: Kenneth Wayne and Eva Ann Decker Whitt of Snowflake, AZ, and her immediate immedi-ate family: Stephen Roy & Karen Whitt of Reston, VA, Kathryn & Lance Kaczorowski of Ft. Wayne, IN, Samuel Wayne & Tracy Whitt of Raleigh, NC, Deidra & James Lovegren of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Scott Nicolas & Karen Whitt of Sandy, UT, and her in-laws Jack and JoAnn Thomas of Provo, UT. She is loved by her many nieces and nephews who will miss her intelligence, generosity, kindness, and creativity. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at LDS Hospital for their expertise ex-pertise and kindness to Elizabeth. A memorial service to celebrate her life was held on April 4 at the American Fork 12th Ward Chapel, 673 East 300 North, American Fork, UT. She was born in Frankfort, Ger many on June 21, 1964 to George Irving and Lila Louise Lou-ise "Cookie" Barber. She married Kevin Nilles in Lehi, he later passed away. Kathy loved her whole fam ily, especially her children. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and enjoyed having hav-ing her visiting teachers over, as well as going herself. She enjoyed hr, Josephine Russon Hansen Josephine, age 84, passed away peacefully with her family around her on April 3, 2006 . She was born May 20, 1921 in Lehi, Utah to Lott A. and Sadie Elizabeth Leffler Russon. She married Darrel Gibbs Hansen in the Salt Lake Temple on Oct 15, 1940. Her family was always the center of her life and even as she was passing away, her only concern was for her family. She was an avid supporter of BYU Athletics. She volunteered for many years as a Pink Lady at aware they qualify for certain tax credits, such as the Earned Income Tax Credit. By utilizing the VITA program and claiming claim-ing the Earned Income Tax Credit, community members can keep the money they earn in their homes."
