Show Christine J. Yergensen Christine Johnson Yergensen 72 died Oct. 3, 1982 in Provo. She was born Nov. 18, 1909 in Spanish Fork, Utah to Autna Paul and Emily Johnson. She married Thelbert LeRoy Cowan May 8, 1931. Mr. Cowan died in June of 1934. Christine married Willard G. Yergensen July 1, 1937 in Spanish Fork, Utah. She was a member of the Orem 66th Ward where she taught in the various church organizations. Christine J . Yergensen retired after 27 years of teaching school in Sevier, Nebo, and Alpine School Districts. She has taught second, fifth, and sixth grades, and has been a teacher for the homebound and hospitalized students which included all grades. Mrs. Yergensen was active in civic, church, and professional organizations, especially the Council for Exceptional Ex-ceptional Children and the PTA in both of which she has participated as an officer on local and state levels. She is a charter member of the Orem Women's Club, a member of the Orem Business and Professional Women, and the Fun Club. Mrs. Yergensen, a native of Spanish Fork, attended school there and was graduated from Spanish Fork High School. She was born July 5, 1894 at Cooper, Texas to i George and Allie Mc-I Mc-I Farlane Harvey. She married Charlie C. Ratliff in 1914 at Cooper, Texas. He died in 1946. Mrs. Ratliff was a fashion designer. She grew up in Texas and worked for 50 years in the ; Dallas. area as a fashion designer. She retired in 1961 and moved to California. She lived there lf years before moving to Orem three years ago. She will be remembered for her charity in service to others. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Survivers include one son, Charles Ratliff of Orem, two grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Friday at 2:00 P.M. in Rose Hills, Whittier, Ca. degree. Later she returned to BYU to complete her work for a B.S. Degree. She has since done postgraduate work at Brigham Young University and the University of Utah. She is survived by 2 sons and 2 daughters Austin Z. Yergensen, and Mrs. Jack . C. (Eris) Sumner both of Orem. Philip W. Yergensen and Mrs. Jeffrey (Mary Baker both of Salt Lake City. 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. One brother and two sisters W. Oct. 2, 1982 in the Orem 66th Ward chapel, 546 North 500 West, at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at the Sundberg Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State, Orem Wednesday from 7 to 9 and at the church Thursday one" hour prior to service. Harry Edward Chittock Harry Edward Chittock, Chit-tock, 73, of Orem died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 1982 in Jensen, Utah, as a result of an automobile-pedestrian automobile-pedestrian accident. He was born Nov. 16, 1908 in Bendigo, Australia to Edward Henry and Anita Dix Peek Chittock. He married Emma Ellen Peterson Nov. 8, 1933 in the Salt Ike City LDS Temple. Mr. Chittock was educated in Australia. He had moved to America in 1927. He was graduated from Utah Technical College in carpentry, tie spent his working life as a carpenter and drove the second nail in the construction con-struction of the Geneva Steel Plant. He was a member of the LDS Church. Survivors include his wife of Orem; one son and one daughter, David Harry Chittock of Carlsbad, Calif, and Mrs. Jimmy (Betty) Lowe of Orem; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; ' one brother and two sisters, Lewis Chittock, Durango, Colo.; Mrs. Ida Sibley, Hayward, Calif.; and Mrs. Theo (Nita) Verhaaren, Palo Alto, Calif. Funeral was held Tuesday in the Orem 22nd Ward Chapel. Burial was in the Springville City Cemetery. Lindsay Busker Lindsay A. Busker, infant daughter of Robert David and Tonya Johnson Busker of Gunnison, died Friday, Oct. 1, 1982 of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Survivors include her parents and one sister, Jenifer Lynn, all of Gunnison; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Devon Parson, Lehi; David Busker, Monroe; Mr. and Mrs. Weldon Johnson, Gunnison; great grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Prestwich, Orem; great - great grandfather, Merlin Prestwich, Orem. Funeral was Tuesday at the Gunnison Stake Center. Burial at the Gunnison City Cemetery. Paula Ruth Smith Adams Paul Ruth Smith Adams, 29, of Orem, died Saturday, October 2 at her home after a long illness. She was born July 22, 1953 in Monroe County, Ala. to Olen Lavell and Ruth P. Johnson Smith. She married Shepard A. Adams on March 31, . 1972 in Bay Minette, Ala. Their marriage later was solemnized in the LDS Provo Temple. Mrs. Adams was educated in Alabama. She moved to Utah in 1962. She was an active member of the LDS Church where she served as a teacher in the Primary and Relief Society organizations. Survivors include her husband of Orem; one son and two daughters, Mark E. Adams, Kellie R. Adams and Leah A. Adams, all of Orem; her mother, Orem; six brothers, Olen L. Smith, Ft. Worth, Texas; Coleman W. Smith, Prat-tville, Prat-tville, Ala.; Julius V. Smith, Greenriver, Wyo. ; Jerry E. Smith and Rodger A. Smith, both of Evanston, Wyo.; and James Ogden Smith of Clearfield; two sisters, Mrs. George (Janis) Allison of Bartlesville, Okla. and Mrs. Joyce P. Cook of Cedar City. Funeral was held Monday in the Orem 70th Ward Chapel. Burial was in Orem City Cemetery. Theft Reported Someone Illegally entered the House of Blinds, 242 E. Parkway Plaza, Tuesday night and stole $100 in cash from a filing cabinet. Investigating In-vestigating police officers of-ficers said entry apparently ap-parently was made by way of the ceiling Cat Shot Paul Judd, 388 W. 1520 N., complained to Orem police that someone had shot the front paw off his pet cat. Mary Steffensen Mary Brierley Person Steffensen, Ml, of San Francisco, Calif., died Sunday, Oct. :, M2 at Timpanogos Rest Home. She was born Sept. 22, I1MM to James Brierley and Priscilla Roberts. She married Franklin Person in October, 1912. They later divorced. She married Christian Steffensen in l)4i). He died in 1970. She received her education in Park City schools, returning later to teach. She moved to San Francisco in 1922 where she lived for 15 years. She hid lived in Orem for the past two-and-a-half years. She was a member of the LDS Church and served in the Oakland Temple as an Ordinance Worker for 10 years. Congressman Hansen, who still represents much of the newly formed Third District, seeks re-election in his ' own re-aligned First District. Hansen indicated he was more than happy to help his former legislative associate in the Utah House of Representatives. Dr. Madsen said only residents of Utah Valley (south to Santaquin and north to Lehi) and rural areas of central and southern Utah are eligible to enter.
