Robert Redford a el?- i v - i 1 co-stars with Paul Newman, and both do an excellent job as actors. ac-tors. The story has been written about the different episodes of the life that the two famous lawbreakers law-breakers led. It is full of humor and very entertaining throughout. Much of the picture was filmed near St. George, Utah where the scenery is unequaled anyplace on the earth. Some parts of the film were produced in Old Mexico. The episodes are supposed to be true as near as history has recorded them. Cassidy and the Sundance Kid were finally chased out of the country into Bolivia South America where they finally met up with the Army of Bolivia. Bo-livia. The overall picture has a few cuss words in places which are not anything compared to many modern movies. Two scenes in the picture are slightly off color and will not be missed if some movie houses choose to delefe (hem. All in all this picture is as entertaining as True Grit which has gained so much recognition. Young Robert Redford is on his way to real stardom if this performance per-formance is any gage of his future fu-ture pictures. The picture is now showing at the Academy Theater and the Pioneer Drive-In. In Case of Fire - - -Don't Panic! You are awakened by the smell of smoke. What should you do? The American Mutual Insurance Alliance, an association of mutual' property and liability insurance companies, recommends these steps in a publication called 'Operation 'Op-eration EDITH - Exit Drills In The Home: 1. Turn on the nearest bedroom bed-room electric light. If the light doesn't come on, this tells you that the fire has gained considerable con-siderable headway, having short-circuited short-circuited wiring and blown fuses. You'll probably have to escape through a window. 2. If the bedroom door is open, close it immediately if more than a little smoke is present pres-ent in the room. Then shout and pound on your door to awaken other family members, uet down on your hands and kneesthere's usually a layer of relatively smoke-free air about 18 inches off the floor. This was announced recently by1 Dr. Vere A. McHenry, administrator ad-ministrator of the State Board of Education's Division of Teacher Teach-er Personnel. The Professional Certificate is issued to teachers and other personnel who have completed the equivalent of a fifth year of college preparation, Dr. McHenry Mc-Henry explains. It is awarded to teachers who have completed planned programs of 55 or more quarter hours of college credit beyond attaining the bachelor degree. de-gree. Under the program, the college courses must be approved in advance ad-vance to make certain the additional addi-tional study -will contribute to the teacher's proficiency. In addition, ad-dition, teachers obtaining the Professional Certificate must have completed at least three years of successful teaching experience. ex-perience. When the program was introduced in-troduced several years ago it was intended that the Professional Certificate would advance teachers teach-ers to a higher salary level, Dr. McHenry said. But neither the last two legislatures nor local boards of education, either working work-ing alone or through salary negotiations neg-otiations with teacher associations, associa-tions, have attached any significant signifi-cant monetary value to the certificate, certi-ficate, he noted. He estimates that perhaps 2,500 of Utah's more than 13,000 certificated educators could qualify for the Professional Certificate Cer-tificate if they wished to. The State Board of Education has, he said liberalized recertification policies for holders of the higher certificate in order to recognize recog-nize their additional effort and to make the fifth-year program more attractive. it a few inches at the top and bottom. Then immediately open the window wider, removing the screens and breaking out storm glass if necessary to get out. If the window is too high for jumping out, and you must wait for firemen, cover your body with blankets and crouch at the window sill or throw ane leg over the sill and hang outside so you can breathe. 3. Assume that the bedroom door was closed when you awoke, and smoke is seeping in around the door frame. If it is warm or hot to the touch, don't open the door! If the door is cool, and there is little or no smke seeping through door cracks, brace your body against the door, turn your head away from the opening, and cautiously open the door a crack. Put you hand over the small opening to test for heat. If you're trapped, slam the door shut again and seal up the door cracks with cloth or anything handy. This summer my family and I travelled extensively through Eastern United States and Canada. We saw a lot of beautiful beauti-ful countryside and historical sites, but you know, when we returned and came through the Rockies' and down our beautiful canyons to this fair city of ours my heart was full of gratitude and pride that I could call Orem my home. I often reflect on the bounteous advantages here. Where could you find a more desirable setting? From a rec reation standpoint, our mountains, moun-tains, streams and lakes make this spot a sportman's paradise. Our unique Scera recreational program for our youth, sponsored by our community, cannot be matched anywhere in the world. Our atmosphere is clean and our social environment makes rearing our children so much easier. I salute the youth of Orem. Over the years I have been associated with the youth of the church. Truly they are the salt of the earth. Since becoming becom-ing the president of the Orem Chamber of Commerce, I have been privileged to work closely with many, many devoted men and women who are truly dedicated to making our City, County and State a better place to live. Everywhere we look we have neighbors and friends who 'care' about our well being. Yes, it's great to live in Orem. S.
