The children's classes in Or- em's fine summer recreation program closed last week- We appreciate the many fine expressions ex-pressions of appreciation sent by the parents of the children who have participated in the program. Orem was able to have the finest children's recreation program in the state because Orem City, Alpine School District Dis-trict and Scera combined their resources. The Softball program will end nexi week. One of the finest results of the ball program has been the opportunities for boy and Eirl leadership afforded men and women who have been called to volunteer their services serv-ices as coaches. Almost 100 teams participated which meant there were 100 groups of boys and eirls supervised in their play and practice periods. As some of the teams played their last game this week most of them closed with a party. One lady said she had never enjoyed working with a group of girls so much in all her life as she had her girls in softball this summer. She said "I am sure I nave learned to Lve the girls by playing with them a lot more :han I ever would teaching them in a class. It was a great experience." exper-ience."
