Show Thursday, Sept. 18, 1953 OHEM-GENEVA TIMES HI LINCOLN MEETS AMERICAN FORK SEPT. 25, HERE Coach Glen Zimmerman's football foot-ball squad consisting of seven returning re-turning lettermen and a group of fast and rugged juniors will get their first taste of competition today to-day when they meet the Uinta squad at Vernal. The lettermen returning this fall who will attempt at-tempt to fill the shoes of players of last year's squad, like Ray Ncel Carl Rowley, Jimmie P y n e, and company are Kenneth Marshall, Mar-shall, David Brandt, Clifford Ferguson, Kay Long, Keith Ma-eon, Ma-eon, and Norman Rowley. The Tigers have lined up only one pre-season game before league play. Friday, Sept. 25 they tangle with the American Fork Cavemen on the Lincoln field. Keith Mason Ma-son letterman, who has been working out at fullback, and tall-back tall-back position suffered a severe leg injury in Tuesday's workout and probably will not see action in the game with Uinta. Mason was hurt Tues day during scrimmage, and was hospitalized Wednesday. It was .'ound that the leg was so badly njured that he will be in the .opital at least eight days. Mason is an all-around athlete at the Tiger camp, be was a member of the Tiger backfield of last years squad where he let tered. He was also a member of the basketball squad, and has been a catcher on the baseball team since his sophomore year. He is one of the best baseball players to be seen at Lincoln for some time. Keith is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Mason, of Carter ville.
