The Locomotive Springs pro ject is located at the isolated north end of the Great Salt Lake : where these fishing ponds form an ; important addition to the limited trout waters in this section. Quality of the waters as trout producers is shown by a seven months growing period this season sea-son when planted rainbow of 6 inch average reached 14 to 16 iinches in length. Creel returns have been exceptional during this period. The project has been conducted with the aid of the Tremonton sportsmmen's group. Continued cooperation in the expansion of this work at Locomotive Springs should result in increasingly good angling for trout in these waters. Governor J. Bracken Lee State Capitol BIdg. Salt Lake City, Utah Dear Governor Lee: As a former State Senator, and as a Board member of the ba.ted Nations Organization in Utah, also as President of the Consumers' Consum-ers' Welfare League of Utah, I, for one, and I am sure thousands of others feel and would express themselves the same way, that you, as Governor of this state, are deliberately misrepresenting the people here, and discrediting them and the fair state of Jtah before the rest of the nation and the entire world. You presume to speak for the itate, and yet your thinking is decidedly not the people's thinking, think-ing, and you have no right to presume to speak for the people as you have attempted to do on many occasions. Your recent presumptious act. If there are any doubts about your abusing your power and authority as Governor, you certainly cer-tainly reached the climax in this respect in presuming to again do the thinking for Utah people by refusing to set aside in Utah a United Nations Day on Oct. 24, as you were extended the honor to do by the National chairman of the great International Organization Organ-ization for world peace. Bear in mind that our membership member-ship in the United Nations was cheerfully and over-whelmingly ratified by our own national government. gov-ernment. By your defiance dnd announced refusal to cooperate, you have not only placed Utah and her people in a position of apparent outright disloyalty to our national government in its ef-j ef-j fort to promote international peace, bui you have rnisrepresent-?fi rnisrepresent-?fi and discredited our state and j i'.s people as a dissenting, disloyal 'and insurgent rtn'o filled with I fenr erd lack of faith and confidence con-fidence to do the very thing that the leaders in the st.ite should be doing that of, vigorously cham- Dionirtg the cause of averting war, and doing our full part to secure for the world the greatest possible poss-ible measure of universal peace. I TO CELEBRATE OUR list ANNIVERSARY WE HAVE PURCHASED Shall we follow President Eisenhower Eis-enhower in his dignified proclamation proclam-ation for United Nations Day? You, Governor Lee, were highly honored in the invitation to head Utah and her people in support of our national government in observance ob-servance of United Nations Day. You have openly refused to issue this call and thereby you have misrepresented and discredited your people in this great state. Now, therefore, in order that the genuine will of Utah and her people shall be correctly expressed express-ed and manifested toward our national government in its membership mem-bership in and support of the United Un-ited Nations, it is to be hoped and urged that every city and town in Utah -will follow President Eisenhower and issue a dignified proclamation for observance of United Nations Day in Utah on October 24. By so doing Utah will cooperate with our national gov ernment, and with the other states and nations in the greatest project pro-ject on earth that of promoting promot-ing world peace and mutual understanding un-derstanding among nations of the globe, and once and for all, forever for-ever putting down aggression and war in this enlightened age.
