Tami Lee and Taylor Satterthwaite of Eden had a baby boy on April 2. Returning Missionaries Sister Candice Lyn Saunders, daughter of David and Laura Saunders of Liberty, has returned home after serving in the Chile Santiago South Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Candice is a member of the Liberty 1st Ward. Birthdays Shaw Bernice S. Shaw of North Ogden celebrated her 80th birthday with her family on April 10 at the Lion’s Den Restaurant in Ogden. She was born on April 13, 1924 to Edwin E. and Florence Bee Stock in Oakley, Idaho. She was the only daughter, with four older brothers who are all deceased. She married Woodrow K. Shaw on July 1, 1946, in the Logan LDS Temple. They have four daughters and one son. Their children and their spouses are Linda and H.J. Frank, Lorraine and Galan Rogers, Janet and Dave Cummings, DeAnn and Dennis Olsen, and Douglas Shaw (deceased). They have 15 grandchildren and 18 greatgrandchildren. She and her husband worked and raised their family on their dairy farm in Liberty. She has been active in the LDS Church and has served in many positions. After her husband’s retirement, they served as ordinance workers in the Ogden LDS Temple for 13 years. There they have formed many friendships. They spent time traveling and going on many LDS temple tours. After her husband died on July 24, 1996, she moved to North Ogden. She now spends time with her family and friends, and traveling. Her hobbies include crocheting and reading good books. Obituaries Lowe-Shupe Donna Rhivers Allen Laura and Clayton Shupe Laura Jo Lowe and Clayton Lee Shupe were united in marriage April 16 at the Eden LDS Stake Center where a reception was held in their honor. The bride chose Heidi Hamblin as her matron of honor, and Tara Lowe, Breanne Warner and Teri Shupe as her bridesmaids. Craig Shupe performed the duties of best man, with Chris Hamblin as his groomsman. Wyatt Shupe was the ring bearer. The bride is the daughter of Dwight A. Lowe of Franklin, Idaho; and Dixie Jo and Brad Warner of Longview, Texas. Parents of the bridegroom are Steve and Joni Shupe of Huntsville. The new couple will live in Eden after their honeymoon. Huntsville - Donna Rhivers Allen, 79, died on Monday, April 5, 2004 in her home from pulmonary fibrosis. She was born on March 27, 1925 in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Donald Ellis and Edith Lydia Nelson Rhivers. Donna was reared and educated in Ogden, Utah. She attended Washington Elementary, Central Jr. High School, and Ogden High School. She attended the University of Mexico on a scholarship in the summer of 1945, and graduated from the University of Utah in June of 1946. She was a service representative and a supervisor for Mountain Bell Telecommunications. She also worked for the Freeport Center and Hill Air Force Base during WW II. On February 3, 1951, Donna married Wilon Ammon Allen in Las Vegas, Nevada. He died June 7, 1999. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was an active member of the Utah Daughters of the Pioneers. She was a member of the Credit Women International, and Beta Sigma Fi where she served as president in 1954. She also served on the planning commission for Huntsville City. She enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, and growing flowers and plants of all kinds. She also loved her animals, horseback riding, and rock collecting. Donna is survived by three sons: Narl W. (Jolene) Allen, Liberty, Utah; Jeffrey P. (Carolyn) Allen, Whittier, Alaska; D. Brett (Laurie) Allen, Huntsville, Utah. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren; and her brother and sister-inlaw, Vern (Fawn) Bronson and Loris Allen. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 10, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Huntsville 1st Ward, 277 South 7400 East, Huntsville. Interment, Huntsville City Cemetery. Send condolences to the family at <www.leavittsmortuary.com> Watson-Deveraux Amy Watson and Brian Wayne Deveraux were married April 17 at St. Florence Catholic Church in Huntsville. The ceremony was officiated by the Reverend Charles Cummins. A reception was held at The Edgewood Reception Center. The bride is a daughter of Steven and Karen Watson of Layton. The bridegroom is a son of Gary and Linda Deveraux of Cerritos, California. The bride’s maid of honor was her sister Erin Watson. Her sister-in-law, Leslie Deveraux, served as bridesmaid. Best man was Scott Deveraux and groomsman was Kevin Deveraux. Ring bearer was his nephew Johnathan Deveraux. Flower girls were cousins Macayla Ray and Jordan Ray. Amy is a graduate of Layton High School and attended Dixie College studying for a career in nursing. A graduate of Garr High School, Brian works at the family bathroom remodeling business Devco. The couple will reside in Long Beach, California after their honeymoon in Las Vegas. A reception will be held in their honor in Liberty following the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Lowell and Joyce Johnson of Nibley, Utah. Parents of the bridegroom are Paul and Connie Judd of Liberty, Utah. Casey graduated from Weber High School and Haley from Mountain Crest High School. Casey served an LDS mission in the Florida Orlando Mission. The new couple will live in Providence after their honeymoon to Orlando, Florida. SAV E T H E GARDEN S Just two spaces left.
