Show Page 4 The Ogden Valley news Volume XIX Issue XXIV January 15, 2012 Sommelier Heidi Koudele to Host Wine Pairings Dinner Showcasing the Pacific Northwest Harley & Buck’s is having its next Wine Pairings Dinner on Thursday, January 19. The pairing dinner is part of a popular series that started last summer. The evening’s tasting menu includes a trio of oysters paired with sparkling wine, a lobster and arugula salad paired with pinot gris, lamb lollipops paired with pinot noir, stuffed beef tenderloin paired with syrah and finishes with a dessert course of pear bread pudding and port. “We are thrilled to have Heidi host this pairings dinner. She spends part of the year as the Sommelier at the renowned Celilo Restaurant in Hood River, Oregon and is very familiar with the outstanding wines of the region,” said Christy Tew, a team member at Harley & Buck’s. Superbly balanced pinot noirs and rich, heady syrahs are a couple of the expertly crafted wines being produced in the Pacific Northwest’s diverse and distinctive wine countries. What was once a young wine-growing area with a reputation for eccentricity is today recognized as a dynamic region producing world-class wines. The event promises to be a wonderful representation of this exciting area. The community is invited to the dinner. The price is $75 per person. Reservations and pre-payment are required. To reserve a space, please call the restaurant at 801-7452060. For more information, please visit <www. HarleyandBucks.com> Harley & Buck’s is located at 3900 North Wolf Creek Drive in Eden. Great risk is involved even a century after the Emancipation Proclamation.
