Powder Mountain is collaborating with Stoked On Socks in order to give the ski/ snowboard community an opportunity to help the homeless by donating what they want most—new socks. Designate in the check memo for your donation to go to the Philippine Learning Center, Ogden’s Midtown Clinic, or Catholic Community Services Joyce Hansen Hall Food Bank. First monies received equals a meal ticket until tickets are gone. This is not just a 6th grade activity—we need everyone to come and support this great effort! One hundred percent of your donation goes to these fine charities. There’s no overhead! This year’s event will be held Monday, March 16 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Valley Elementary’s school gymnasium. Valley’s sixth grade hosts this event, gaining valuable experiences and a myriad of leadership skills from greeting dignitaries to leading the Pledge of Allegiance. Students decorate the gym, plan the table layouts, learn to bus and wait tables, usher patrons to their tables, and come to know that even 12 year olds can make a great deal of good happen in the community! Program Schedule • 5:30 p.m. - Silent auction item bidding begins. A whole lot of sixth graders want to shake hands with performers before we begin (about 5:50 p.m.) • 6:00 p.m. - Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts lead Pledge of Allegiance. • 6:03 p.m. - 6th graders perform a song. • 6:05 p.m. - The three sixth-grade class mayors introduce the program. • 6:10 p.m. - Dinner is served and Stampede performs as we eat. • 7:35 p.m. - The three sixth grade mayors present the donations to a representative from each charity.
