Show 7HE OGDEN SNOWDRIFTS IN OGDEN VALLEY Huntsville Liberty and Eden Area Receive Heavy Fall Four snowplows worked most of the night to combat huge drifts in the Huntsville -- Liberty -- Eden area behind the mountains east of Ogden County Commissioner W Ft McEntire reported today The storm which brought the heaviest snow of the season to Ogden itself assumed the proportions of a blizzard Thursday in the higher elevations east of the ' city’ Mr McEntire reported a new fall of nine inches on the level was brought to the Huntsville area making a total of 15 inches in that section while in the Liberty district there is two feet on the level High Wind Felt A high wind whipped the snow into drifts which would have blocked the highways completely except for the w'ork of the plows which by morning had succeeded d in opening most roads Two plows were at work today on the Ogden canyon road completing the work of opening side roads The commissioner said Ernest Shupe road supervisor has been instructed to open all side roads where defense workers are living except in cases where the road is too narrow or where bridge structures will not hold the weight of the heavy machinery “We expect to do everything possible to prevent any delay because of blocked roads for defense workers who must get to their jobs in Ogden war plants” said Mr McEntire War Base Effects Officials at the
