After years of pleading with the city engineers, the street de- month, the business section of partment and the city council about curb and gutter, the sewer, etal., the fiasco of Seventh Street is.still with us. At the present time gravel, mud and sand ex- tend approximately one-fourth of the distance from the edge of the sidewalk to the street. From Adams Avenueto the top ofthe hill near Monroe Boulevard, thick clouds of dust, dirt and debris are constantly deposited in our homes; pathogen-bearing dust is heavier than normal and deposits are everywhere. Racers are using their cars as lethal weapons andtry to intimidate those who obey the 35 mph Maybe one more try with the sidewalk people, the street department, the engineers and the city council would finally get their attention. We know who they are and want to remain friendly. The residents of Seventh Street would be most appreciative if a joint meeting, showing good intentions and cooperation, were to be held with all those concerned to discuss these problems and hopefully arrive at solutions which would be beneficial to all.
