A Cloiul-lnrs- t. From the Reese Itiver Reveille, Aug. 14. A gentleman arrived in this city who brings the news of a terrible cloud-burwhich occurred in Yogo Canus that at noon on the He informs yon. day before yesterday the family of Win. Mcuiuigan, who lives at the foot of the canyon, were startled fcy a rumbling noise, and ou emerging from the house observed a small cloud, apparently no larger than a man's hand, but wich rapidly increased in size until it extended over the entire length and width of the canyon, obscuring the sun and rendering daylight into almost the darkness of night. Mr. McGilligan's four beautiful and accomplished daughters, alarmed at the strange scene, attempted to escape from the impending danger and would undoubtedly have been successful but for the fact of the eldest, Almira Jane, returning to the cabin to endeavor to save an eight octavo piano which, being an heirloom in the family, she was loth to see destroyed. This delay was fatal and involved the untimely death of the entire interesting family. Scarcely had Almira Jane reached the door of the cabin, on her return, when, with a noise resembling the discharge of a thousand pieces of artillery, the darkness suddenly parted in the center, and simultane ously, an immense sheet of water de scendeu upon the doomed house like a shot from a gun. One prolonged .wail, a few short shrieks, and the silence of death closed over the scene. When the water had subsided Yogo Canyon ceased to exist; where the canyen had been was now only a part of the adjoiuing hills; the debris caused by the cloud-burhaving filled it up to a level with their tops. Search was made at once for the bodies of the laiuentcd McFilligan family; but it was at once seen that search was useless, as the bodies would net be of any use when found, ond if found would only create the necessity of dig. ging graves to bury them in, and as they were already buried about one thousand leet it was thought best to let them rest.
