INSTITUTION, Nortii Ovjoes, June 2Gth, 1671. Editor Oqprm Jcxctiom: Sir: In reply to tbe instructions, "write again," I wish to say that Ogden in tbe North is still improving, as can be seen by the water, that essential clement, hastening along the uew canal to the parched lands of the west, as well as moistening those sand benches between us and the Ogden rivr, where can be seen excellent grain bidding fair to re numerate the labors of those who have applied works to their faith and made good farms, and whose granaries will ere long be overflowing with the staff of life. This canal is divided intfl 3 divisions, with A. Chadwick, B. Cuicr, G. Barnelt, Esqrs., superintendents of those divisions respectively. The canal had to pass through some most valuable property, but through tbe wise course of d the gentlemen, assisted b some of tbe most careful and judicious directors, they eucceedtd in getting it threugh without having to pay damages to any one. The benches and the bottom lands are fast building up. Houses ore springing up in all directions, aud, ere long, you will see North Ogden, that is, not that has been, in the presept, not in the past tense. Whoever gave this splendid localit v that name or title of all titles, "Hole,,rthey did not display their knowledge of ibis paradise. Did not its originator live among those timbers around those peaks and never left home to see what country was around him? I wi.h to inform your numerous readers that North Ogdoa approaches nearer a city set on a bill than a hole, as can be seen by looking due north from any of tbe streets of tbe Junction city, or miles around it. There are many subscribers to your valuable paper in this vicinity, and plenty more awaiting with money in hand to see your Agent oome along; but through the press of business, the lively times, combined with a dislike of leaving Ogden in the North for Ogden in the South, they let their money aooumulate on their hands until they use it to build stocks, houses, invest in and pass around tbe machinery, Junction to one another in order to keep posted with the times around them. North Ogden is full of lively men and they must have a lively paper, hence, they all want the Ogden Junction. We have a good Sunday and Day school, and a good Store; our crops are looking well, plenty of water, plenty of boys and girls in the streets, plenty in the school plenty in our homes; deaths seldom, births frequent, health good, with good will to all at home and abroad We havo our much respected Patriarch, C.
